    Celiac disease affects millions of people worldwide, yet many still do not understand the seriousness of this autoimmune condition.

    In this special episode of the Menopause Mindshift Self-Love Podcast, we talk about the realities of living with celiac disease and why safe gluten-free food is not a trend or lifestyle choice. For people with celiac disease, eating gluten can cause serious health complications, including long-term damage such as osteoporosis and increased cancer risk.

    This episode is part of Podcast Thon, a global initiative where podcasters dedicate an episode to a charity that matters to them. I am supporting Celiac Canada, the national charity committed to improving the lives of Canadians living with celiac disease through education, advocacy, and research.

    This topic is very personal to me. My husband was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2011, and since then we have had to navigate every meal, trip, and restaurant with careful attention to gluten-free safety.
