Coming on this special episode of the Mechanics of Transportation, I speak with fellow podcaster Taylor Nichols. You may know him from his Bike Talk podcast. His show is heard on numerous public radio stations across the country and online.

He’s on a monthslong trip from San Francisco to Michigan. The Los Angeles based podcaster and actor recently set off from where his daughters live in San Francisco to ride to his 101 year old dad in Michigan.

I caught up with along the Oregon coast and we talked about his trip, his podcast and why some drivers are basically dicks. Be sure to click on all the links to get his show and track his progress.

*Note, I found two references about the Mackinaw and Macinac Bridge.

Well, to an actual press conference that happened the week of 4/18/26 that featured Richmond city officials, including Mayor Danny Avula, Department of Transportation Andy Boenau and Vassar Sumpter of DPW. • New Podcast coming from Big Soap Productions!
    2026/04/15

    Send us Fan Mail

I'm about to launch a new (and yet another) podcast---the World Music Show - Interviews from the Archives.

For almost two decades I hosted a World Music Show on a public radio station, where during that time, I interviewed dozens of musicians, authors and filmmakers.

These include Angelique Kidjo, Jack Johnson, Los Lobos, Vieux Farka Toure and More. You can also listen to my music show on Mixcloud.

So keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, make sure you're listening to the Mechanics of Transportation/ RVA Bike Scene and watching my dorky videos on YouTube at IanStewartCycles.

If you want to support my efforts then feel free to Venmo me at: Ian-Stewart-82 or Buy Me a Coffee.
