  • The Norwegian Method for Masters.
    2026/09/01

Episode 115 is based on a new book called, 'The Norwegian Method Applied' by Marius Bakken whose method is used most famously by Jakub Ingebritsen. Its core is the famous double threshold we all have heard about. I've been doing it with my coach for over 6 weeks and really enjoy it.

I'm going to go through the basics here for masters runners. It's definitely worth a listen folks as athletes have had huge success from it. He actually did his first double threshold session with Seb Coe's dad in 1996, who was way ahead of his time and Bakken has conducted more than 5,500 lactate tests and used himself as a long-term experiment, ultimately running 13:06 for 5,000m- a record in Norway for 20 years and he competed at two Olympics. Enjoy, share and give it a try.
