By reading against the grain of parish ledgers and hospital records, a consistent biological profile emerges. The entity navigates by the carbon dioxide of exhaled breath, drapes its mass across the sternum of sleeping hosts to harvest panic chemistry, and breeds in the organic substrate of old mattresses.

This is a fictional natural-history record presented in a calm, observational tone.
