  • How to Have Real Community
    2026/03/15

What does real, biblical community actually look like? In this sermon from the "Invitation to Joy" series through Philippians, we explore Philippians chapter 2 and the examples of Paul, Timothy, and Epaphroditus. These are three people who show us what it means to stop doing life alone and start putting others first. Real community isn't perfect, and it isn't convenient, but rather, it's built on genuine care, mutual sacrifice, and a willingness to be known.

Discover why the people who give the most are often the most joyful, how showing up when it costs you something transforms your relationships, and why God designed us not for independence or dependence but for interdependence. Whether you're longing for deeper friendships, wrestling with loneliness, or wondering what it looks like to truly belong, this message will challenge you to stop waiting for community to come to you and become the community you're looking for.

  • A Joyful Love Feast
    2026/03/08

What does it truly mean to pour out your life for Christ? In this message from the "Invitation to Joy" series through Philippians, we explore three key Greek words: agape, koinonia, and kenoo. These reveal the heart of what it means to follow Jesus with everything we have. Walking through Philippians chapters 2, 3, and 4, this message unpacks how Christ emptied Himself and became obedient to the point of death, and how we are called to do the same.

You'll be encouraged to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, to be anxious for nothing, and to discover that when you empty yourself for God's purposes, He fills you with an inexpressible joy. Whether you've been walking with the Lord for 40 years or are just beginning to sense His presence, this message will challenge you to find your place in the body of Christ and start pouring out for His glory.

  • How To Find Joy When We Suffer
    2026/03/01

What does it look like to find real joy in the middle of suffering? In this sermon from our series "Invitation to Joy," we explore Philippians 1:27–29 and discover that biblical joy isn't the absence of pain, it's the presence of trust. Using the analogy of running a half marathon, we unpack how seeing the finish line changes the way we endure. The Apostle Paul, writing from a Roman prison, teaches the church at Philippi three powerful truths: joy is durable and anchored in our citizenship in God's kingdom, joy is formed through resistance and purposeful suffering, and joy becomes courageous communion when believers stand firm together. We also look at how Jesus modeled this in the Garden of Gethsemane: naming His pain, surrendering to the Father, and enduring the cross for the joy set before Him. Whether you're walking through a hard season, struggling with loss, or feeling isolated, this message is a reminder that suffering with purpose produces something deeper than comfort ever could.

  • To Die is GainZZZ?
    2026/02/22

What does the Apostle Paul mean when he says "to die is gain"? In this powerful message from our series, An Invitation to Joy, we explore how understanding death biblically transforms the way we live today. Paul, writing from a Roman prison and facing possible execution, declares that death isn't the final word. Instead, he claims it's a doorway to gaining Christ's presence, permanence, and perfect fulfillment. We unpack why grief isn't a lack of faith but a sign of love, why the Bible calls death an enemy, and how Paul's shocking confidence in the face of death reveals what it means to live with real purpose. If you've ever wrestled with loss, grief, or wondered what makes Christianity more than just good advice, this message is for you.

  • The Joy of an Undivided Heart
    2026/02/15

Are you tired, overwhelmed, and pulled in a thousand different directions? In this message, Pastor Jacob explores what the Apostle Paul meant when he wrote "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21) and why true joy isn't found in a balanced life, but in a focused life.

We live in a culture that worships balance: work-life balance, balanced diets, balanced portfolios. But, the men and women of God in Scripture didn't strive for balance. They lived with an undivided heart. So what keeps us from that kind of focus, and how do we get it back?

    In this sermon you'll discover:
    - Why a scattered life leads to anxiety and steals your joy
    - What it means to live through Christ and for Christ
    - How to move from just surviving to truly thriving
    - Why your motive behind everything matters more than the activity itself

Whether you're spinning 50 plates or just trying to get through the week, this message is an invitation to stop hydroplaning over the surface of your life and start walking on water with God.

  • Joyful Confidence in Uncertain Times
    2026/02/08

How do you choose joy when your tomorrow looks terrifying? Whether you are facing a difficult medical report, a job layoff, or relational hurt, the Apostle Paul’s life shows us that uncertainty is inevitable, but misery is optional.

In this message, Jacob continues our series, "An Invitation for Joy," by looking at Philippians 1:19. Even while chained in a Roman prison facing a potential death sentence, Paul remained full of joy.

    Key Takeaways from This Message:
    - Isolation is a joy-stealer that affects our physical, mental, and spiritual health. Paul’s joy was fueled by the prayers of his community.
    - While "rows" are for instruction, "circles" are where connection and life change happen.
    - Paul relied on the Holy Spirit as both the "Spirit of Jesus" (providing empathy for suffering) and the "Spirit of Christ" (providing power for victory).
    - We often lose our joy by obsessing over results we can’t control. Joy rushes in when we focus on faithfulness and leave the outcomes to God.

    Scripture References:
Philippians 1:19 — "For I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance."
Hebrews 11:1 — Faith as evidence of things unseen.
Job 13:16 — Paul’s source of confidence in vindication.

Declaration for the Series: "I can’t change yesterday. I can’t control the future. But I can choose joy today."

  • The Benefits of Your Problems
    2026/01/25

What if the very thing you want to escape is the place where your purpose grows? Joy doesn’t wait for easier days. Joy shows up when chains turn into channels, when limits become leverage, and when the gospel moves even where we can’t.

We follow Paul in Philippians 1 as he says what happened has actually advanced the gospel. Not everything is good, but God can work for good in anything. That insight reframes three benefits hiding inside our hardest moments.

  • Love That Knows What To Do
    2026/01/18

What if love isn’t just a feeling to chase but a skill to train? We walk through Paul’s prayer in Philippians 1:9–11 to show how love grows wiser, not thinner, under pressure. Instead of asking for easier days, Paul asks for love that “abounds in knowledge and depth of insight,” a love that can read the room, see beneath the surface, and respond with courage and care.

Lasting transformation comes “through Jesus Christ,” not through pressure or willpower. As we abide, fruit shows up: patience replaces sarcasm, gentleness disarms anger, and faithfulness outlasts convenience. If you’ve wondered how to love wisely when life gets complicated, this message offers a roadmap
