In this sermon Pastor Khethani Madzhie continues the series on "The Law of Faith", using Hebrews 11:6 and Romans 4:16–21 as foundation texts.
Pastor K emphasizes that Christianity is a faith-based relationship where the kingdom of God operates on principles of faith ("The just shall live by faith").
- Faith is a daily lifestyle and a muscle that must be continuously exercised rather than just used during times of crisis.
- True faith is active and not passive; it moves, obeys, and demonstrates action.
Key Principles of Faith
- Believing Before Seeing: Faith acts on the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1).
- Believing Who God Is: Drawing from Hebrews 11:6, coming to God requires trusting His character, track record, and faithfulness even when circumstances do not make sense.
- The Example of Abraham: Abraham stood in faith contrary to physical hope (Romans 4:18), relying on what God spoke rather than his physical limitations or age.
4. Faith vs. Reality: Comparing the 12 spies in Canaan, the pastor highlights that faith does not deny reality or facts, but refuses to let facts have the final say or overshadow God's promises.
5. Practical Application & Action: Faith requires taking steps of preparation (like bringing an umbrella when praying for rain). Believers are encouraged to prepare their lives, update CVs, adjust habits, or set goals in expectation of God's response.
