  • EPI 009 – BIRTHDAYS, BETCHIN CAKES & A KARDASHIAN CONFESSION
    2026/10/26

We're back, baby. And apparently, taking a couple of weeks off just means life has more time to become completely unhinged.

After surviving the absolutely disrespectful Los Angeles heat wave (because since when did we move to the surface of the sun?), Brittni and Michael are back, slightly overheated, fully booked, and ready to unpack it all.

Between celebrating Michael's birthday, heading to the Rams vs. Bills game, and Brittni landing her first global campaign featuring Betchin Cakes, it's been a busy few weeks. One of us is making career moves, the other is just happy football season is back. We'll let you figure out who's who.

But the real tea? Brittni is finally spilling the story behind the Betchin Cake she created for Khloé Kardashian and how Tristan Thompson somehow ended up getting the credit. Because apparently, you can make the cake, deliver the cake, and still not be the one who takes the cake. Tristan, the jig is up!

We're talking marriage, milestones, reality TV, pop culture, and the headlines that have everyone acting like they were personally involved. Plus, we're opening the Notes App for some relationship talk that might hit a little too close to home and sharing what's been on our minds lately. And trust us, some thoughts probably should've stayed in the drafts.

We've got birthdays, big moves, questionable behavior, and plenty of opinions nobody asked for.

Two weeks off, a lifetime of material, and apparently some people are still taking credit for things they didn't do.

Welcome back to Layered. We've got receipts, and this time we're serving them with cake.

  • EPI 008 – THE PRESSURE: FAMILY, PLANS & FANTASY
    2026/09/20

We’re back after missing one week, and honestly, blame Los Angeles.

It was so miserably hot that the idea of sitting in a studio under lights and trying to have a normal conversation sounded like a terrible idea. The heat had everyone irritated, over it, and one minor inconvenience away from losing it — so we skipped a week and waited for everyone to become human again.

Now we’re catching up on everything that piled up in the meantime. Fantasy football is officially back, plans are stacking up, events are nonstop, and Brittni is trying to balance meetings, cake orders, the podcast and the very real feeling that she’s missing the fun stuff while trying to build all of it.

Michael has been the one showing up when Brittni can’t, which somehow makes the guilt worse instead of better.

Basically: the calendar is full, fantasy is back, everybody has somewhere to be, and we’re trying to figure out how to keep up without completely losing it.

  • EPI 007 - THE REVEAL: OUR LAYER, FESTIVAL LORE & RIFF RAFF
    2026/09/04

Brittni and Michael finally turn the cameras on and welcome everyone into their Layer — because apparently having microphones wasn’t enough evidence.

The South Bay is melting in a brutal heat wave when their neighbors drop off a Mid-Autumn Festival gift, which somehow leads to a genuinely thoughtful conversation about tradition, spiritual timing, meaningful gestures, and why returning that kind of thoughtfulness can mean so much.

Very sweet. Very grounded. Very “look at us growing.”

    That lasts about five minutes.

Bethenny Frankel heads to Burning Man, one of Brittni’s comments gets pulled into the mix, and suddenly Michael is being handed a full historical briefing on his wife’s festival era like he accidentally opened a classified file.

Two years of Diplo’s Mad Decent Boat Party.
    Getting stranded in Cuba.
Partying in the middle of the ocean with Zeds Dead.
    Brunch with Borgore.
A private island in the Bahamas.

And, casually buried in the archives, making out with RIFF RAFF.

Which is exactly the kind of information you assume your spouse has already told you until you realize… apparently not.

So now Michael is processing festival lore, Cuba, the Bahamas, and one extremely specific rapper while Brittni keeps remembering details like she’s unlocking bonus footage from her own twenties.

First video episode. New studio. Spiritual signs. Festival chaos. Questionable decisions. RIFF RAFF.

Turns out the microphones were never the problem.

The cameras just gave the evidence better lighting.

  • EPI 006 - THE PIVOT: BUILDING, BETTING & BECOMING
    2026/08/27

Apparently our current love language is making major life changes at the exact same time.

This week, we’re talking about that weird in-between season where you know you’re moving in the right direction… but the rest of your life is still buffering.

Brittni is navigating the absolutely unhinged job market while pushing Betchin Cakes harder than ever and starting to see some exciting doors open. Mike is stepping away from what’s familiar and building his real estate career on his own. We’ve both taken risks, made major changes and somehow still feel happier and more aligned than ever.

Naturally, we’re processing all of it through the TV we’ve been aggressively binge-watching — from House of Stassi and watching Stassi and Beau navigate career and marriage, to Sons of Anarchy and Outer Banks, where everyone is apparently willing to risk everything for the life they want.

And with Dolly Parton’s passing today, one lyric from Sacrifice feels especially fitting: “You don’t drink the water if you don’t dig the well.”

So we’re getting into careers, relationships, rejection, reinvention, supporting your partner while still figuring out your own shit and what it really means to bet on yourselves when the results are still loading.

    We’re still digging the well.

We don’t have everything figured out, but the plot feels right.

And for now, we’re trusting the pivot.

  • EPI 005 - THE DEBRIEF: BETCHIN, BUZZED & UNFILTERED
    2026/08/20

Brittni comes home from girls dinner a little buzzed, only for Michael to remind her that tonight is recording night. Naturally, he decides this is the perfect time to start asking for Betchin Cakes stories.

What follows is unplanned, unfiltered and painfully us: untold Betchin lore, celebrity gossip stories that definitely weren’t on the episode outline, and Brittni maybe saying a little too much… or not nearly enough.

Let’s just say if you’re famous and your glam squad somehow ended up starting the party… there’s a chance it was Brittni’s fault. And yes, you’ll get a little celebrity gossip you’re hearing here first.

The layers are unfolding, and somehow the hottest tea gets saved for last.

Consider this your invitation to eavesdrop.

  • EPI 004 - THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD: FOR BELLA
    2026/08/13

    This episode is different.

It isn’t just another story from our lives.

And it definitely isn’t the reason we ever imagined we’d be traveling to New Zealand together.

We went to be with our family after losing our beautiful cousin, Isabella Giorgio Beirne, far too young.

For Mike, New Zealand is a place he’s been many times.

For Brittni, it was the first time.

But this trip was unlike any trip either of us had ever taken.

    We went to show up.

To be there for our family during the hardest time of their lives.

    To celebrate Bella.

    To cry.

    To laugh.

To hear stories about her we had never heard before and spend time with our family and friends who knew and loved a whole other side of her.

And somehow, in the middle of one of the saddest reasons to travel across the world, life kept happening around us.

    We explored New Zealand.

    We met incredible people.

We ate our way from city to city.

We laughed harder than we expected to.

Brittni developed a completely unnecessary obsession with Sonny Angels. (Thanks Maddy + Zoe)

And we made memories on a trip we wish we never had a reason to take.

Because grief is weird like that.

You can be completely heartbroken and still laugh.

You can be celebrating someone while desperately wishing they were there to celebrate with you.

You can experience something beautiful in the middle of something incredibly painful.

    This episode is for Bella.

And for the people who loved her most - her dad, Simon, her mum, Hayley, and her beloved brother, Lachie.

For the family who traveled across the world to stand beside them.

For the friends who filled the room with stories, laughter, tears, and memories.

And for everyone learning how to carry Bella with them in a world that looks different without her.

    It's about grief.

    It’s about family.

    It’s about showing up.

It’s about celebrating someone instead of only mourning them.

And it’s about being reminded, in the most unexpected way, just how precious life really is.

We hope that by the end of this episode, you feel like you got to know a little piece of Bella too.

Because this isn’t an episode about how she passed away.

It’s about how beautifully she lived.

And how many people will continue carrying her with them.

This one is for our Guardian Angel Isabella Giorgio Beirne.

  • EPI 003 - THE PLOT TWIST: MIKE FINALLY GETS A MIC
    2026/08/04

Most people know Mike as the guy behind the camera..or holding a cake from time to time…

    Many call him MR. Cakes...

    The husband in the background…

The person who shows up for Brittni and Betchin Cakes.

But there’s a whole story before that.

    The kid he was.

    The person he became.

    The choices that shaped him.

    The things he’s proud of.

The things he’s still figuring out.

This episode is about pulling back the curtain and letting people meet Mike—not just as Brittni’s husband, but as Mike.

    The funny one.

    The loyal one.

    The honest one.

The person who has his own dreams, opinions, and stories.

Because every great story has someone standing beside the main character…

    And this is his chapter.

  • EPI 002 - THE MAIN EVENT: UNDER THE FROSTING WITH BRITTNI
    2026/08/04

If you only know Brittni from Instagram, there’s a decent chance you think she wakes up covered in glitter, makes celebrity cakes, and somehow has her life together.

    I can promise you…

    That’s not how this works.

What people don’t see is the woman answering emails at midnight…

    Second-guessing herself…

Doing the jobs of five different people…

    Remembering everyone’s birthday…

And somehow convincing herself she’s “behind” while building a business most people only dream about.

    She’s built a brand.

But this episode isn’t about the brand.

It’s about the person underneath the frosting.

    The little girl from Redondo.

    The entrepreneur.

    The friend.

    The wife.

The woman who’s still figuring it out like everybody else.
