  • #8: Matthew Talbert—Moral Responsibility, Blame, War Crimes, and Doctrines
    2021/10/26

Hello beautiful people, it’s Krish Kodali, and welcome back to another episode of The Kodali Manifesto.

My guest today is Matthew Talbert.

Matt is a Professor of Philosophy at West Virginia University and a senior researcher at Lund University in the Lund-Gothenburg Responsibility Project.

His work on moral responsibility is largely focused on responsibility and moral understanding and knowledge and its role responsibility practices.

He is also the co-author of War Crimes: Causes, Excuses, and Blame and Moral Responsibility: An Introduction

In this conversation, we delve into the topics of blame, doctrines, and war crimes. We also cover a case study of a 100-year-old Nazi who was recently prosecuted. Matt is an eloquent speaker who is able to really put thoughts into words. While speaking with him I noticed just the level of consideration he puts into thoughts really thinking about different perspectives.

I really hope you enjoy this conversation.

Welcome to this episode of The Kodali Manifesto.

My guest today is Ron Deibert. You can find him on Twitter @rondeibert

Ron is a Professor of Political Science and Director of the Citizen Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto.

As Director of the Citizen Lab, Deibert has overseen and been a contributing author to more than 120 reports covering path-breaking research on cyber espionage, commercial spyware, Internet censorship, and human rights. Ron has received many awards, including being appointed to the Order of Ontario and receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal. In 2017, he was named one of the top "Humans of the Year" by VICE.
