  • #314: The Deal That Started an 8-Year Partnership with Brandon Tauber
    2026/06/10

In this episode of The Kash and Dash Show, hosts Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner sit down with Brandon Tauber for a conversation that has been five years in the making.

Brandon shares his journey from college soccer and business school at Indiana University to consulting, trading at the Chicago Board of Trade, and eventually realizing the high-pressure world of trading was no longer the life he wanted.

After years of watching markets, managing risk, and dealing with the mental grind of trading, Brandon made the move from Chicago to Omaha and started looking for his next chapter. That path eventually led him into real estate investing, house flipping, business partnerships, and private lending.

The conversation covers how Brandon met Owen after losing a deal to him, how that one phone call turned into years of business together, and what he learned from flipping houses, handling losses, working through bad deals, building trust in partnerships, and adapting when the market changed.

Ted, Owen, and Brandon also talk about brutal real estate lessons, hoarder houses, termite damage, deals that went sideways, the current flipping market, and how Liquid Lending became a major focus for Brandon and the team.

This episode is about career changes, burnout, real estate, risk, partnerships, and the kind of lessons you only learn after getting worked a few times.

  • #313: The Kash and Dash Show: Unscripted
    2026/06/07

In this episode of The Kash and Dash Show Unscripted, Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner mix real-life chaos with a real business lesson.

They talk kids’ sports, pets ruining sleep schedules, camping trips, and the usual unscripted nonsense before diving into Owen’s breakdown of the three stages of investor systems: the shoebox stage, the duct tape stage, and the machine stage.

Most investors think they have a business, but really they have spreadsheets, apps, emails, Dropbox folders, and way too much stuff living in their head. Ted and Owen discuss why business owners stay stuck in the “duct tape stage” too long and how documenting, delegating, automating, and eliminating can help build something that actually runs without you.

They also touch on multifamily operations, Omaha REIA growth, and the upcoming REIA Mastery Series self-storage event with Fernando Angelucci.

  • #312: Josh Kolbo: Why Omaha Changed Everything
    2026/06/03

In this episode of The Kash & Dash Show, Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner sit down with Josh Kolbo, a real estate agent, investor, and creative finance operator who made the move from California back to Nebraska with his family.

Josh shares what it was like buying and selling real estate in one of the most expensive markets in the country, how California appreciation helped him reset financially, and why moving to Omaha gave his family a completely different lifestyle.

The conversation gets into house hacking, Airbnb, creative finance, SubTo, seller finance, wholesaling, and what it looks like to help sellers who are dealing with foreclosure, low equity, or tough financial situations.

Josh also talks about starting a new real estate community in Omaha, becoming the local SUBTO connection, hosting Pace Morby in Nebraska, and why building relationships in person still matters.

This episode is not just about deals. It is about family, risk, faith, starting over, and figuring out how to build a real estate business that actually fits your life.

If you are interested in creative finance, moving markets, building community, or learning how investors solve problems beyond traditional listings, this is a good one.

  • #311: The Kash and Dash Show: Unscripted
    2026/05/31

In this episode of The Kash and Dash Show Unscripted, hosts Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner kick things off with a hilarious story about Ted finally meeting Owen’s dad — and realizing he might actually be the coolest Dashner in the room.

From there, Ted and Owen share their wins for the week. Ted talks about coaching his daughter’s volleyball team and the pride that comes with watching kids grow, listen, and improve. Owen shares a small but satisfying win involving his daughter’s car battery problem finally getting solved after way too much frustration.

Then the conversation shifts into the real chaos of life and business.

Ted gives an update on his self-serve car wash, including broken systems, concrete problems, heated floor concerns, and the idea of turning extra space into a laundromat, ad space, or even a new revenue stream. Owen breaks down the madness of youth sports scheduling, with his daughter potentially playing across multiple softball teams and a summer calendar that basically says, “Good luck having a life.”

They also dig into a real estate situation involving a missed security deposit after closing and the frustration of dealing with an agent who didn’t step up when the issue surfaced months later.

The episode wraps with a practical Dash of Wisdom: if you are refinancing debt, don’t skip your current small or community bank. Give them a chance to compete before moving your loan elsewhere. That relationship may matter more than you think.

  • #310: Jeff Charlton: You’re Losing Money Without Direct Mail
    2026/05/27

In this episode of The Kash & Dash Show, hosts Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner sit down with Jeff Charlton, founder of REI Print Mail, to talk about why direct mail is still one of the most powerful marketing tools in real estate.

Jeff has been an entrepreneur since he was 14, built a major direct mail and printing company, and has bought 27 companies over the last 25 years. But this episode is not just about postcards and mailers. It is about marketing, business, follow-up, execution, and why so many investors are quietly losing deals before they ever get a real shot at them.

Jeff breaks down why most direct mail campaigns fail, why cheap lists can cost you more money in the long run, and why investors need to stop treating mail like a one-time lottery ticket. He also explains why direct mail has a “tail,” meaning a mail piece can bring in leads months or even years after it was sent. Ted shares a real example of landing a 14-unit deal from a letter that had been sitting in a drawer for years.

Want to learn more from Jeff Charlton?

Jeff will be speaking live at Omaha REIA on June 2nd. If you are local, come join us in person. If you are outside Omaha, watch the live stream on The Kash & Dash Show YouTube channel.

Jeff and his team also offer a free 15-minute call to help investors review their market, talk through direct mail strategy, and figure out where the opportunity may be.

If you are a real estate investor, business owner, wholesaler, flipper, agent, or entrepreneur trying to generate better leads, this episode is worth the listen.

  • #309: The Kash and Dash Show: Unscripted
    2026/05/24

This episode of The Kash & Dash Show — Unscripted with Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner is a little bit real estate, a little bit family life, and a whole lot of “this is why business is never as clean as people make it look online.”

Ted and Owen talk Mother’s Day, Father’s Day traditions, dad memories, old business cards, garage sale chaos, Goodwill debates, and the random things that make you realize life moves way too fast.

They also get into the real stuff: insurance sticker shock, commercial property expenses, car wash surprises, water heater costs, and the brutal reality that owning real estate is not always passive income. Sometimes it is just expensive problems wearing a cute little “investment property” hat.

The Golden Nugget in this episode is simple: don’t fake the rehab number. If you are an agent bringing a deal to an investor, your job is not to guess construction costs. Bring the ARV, bring the comps, bring what you can visibly see the property needs — but don’t say it needs $20,000 in repairs when it is really a $50,000 problem. Bad numbers kill credibility and can blow up a deal fast.

Ted and Owen also talk about public speaking, Toastmasters, improving as a presenter, and what it looks like when a speaker truly moves a room. Ted shares a personal moment about the passing of Kyle Loftus from 1320Video and the impact Kyle had on Omaha and beyond.

  • #308: The Kash & Dash Show: Andre Galaviz — He Lost Everything, Then Built Something Bigger
    2026/05/20

In this episode of The Kash & Dash Show, hosts Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner sit down with Andre Galaviz, a Denver-based real estate investor, midterm rental operator, and software builder with a story that hits hard.

Andre’s real estate journey started during COVID when he realized his job might not be as safe as he thought. That fear pushed him into BiggerPockets, real estate investing, house hacking, and eventually the midterm rental space.

But this episode goes way beyond rentals.

Andre opens up about getting laid off, being diagnosed with stage three rectal cancer, and the moment life forced him to slow down and rethink everything. Instead of letting it break him, Andre used that season to get clear on family, faith, purpose, and what actually matters.

He also shares how midterm rentals helped support his family after job loss, why house hacking changed the way he looked at real estate, and how his own pain points as an operator led him to build MTRO Pro, a software platform made specifically for midterm rental operators.

This conversation covers real estate, cancer, job loss, family, mindset, software, house hacking, and rebuilding when life punches you right in the mouth.

If you’re operating midterm rentals or thinking about getting into the space, check out MTRO Pro at mtropro.com and sign up for early access or the waitlist.

  • #307: The Kash and Dash Show: Unscripted
    2026/05/17

In this episode of The Kash & Dash Show: Unscripted, hosts Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner are back with another loose, real, and all-over-the-place conversation — exactly how Unscripted should be.

Ted and Owen kick things off with wedding stories, garage sale pain, anniversary chaos, and the kind of random life updates that make this show feel like a real conversation instead of a polished script.

Then the episode shifts into business, real estate, and some hard-earned lessons. Owen breaks down the frustration of having a buyer try to retrade a deal at the last minute after months of due diligence, and why operating in good faith matters more than people think. Ted shares what he’s learning from AI, how far behind he feels even while using it, and what came out of his recent blood work that may force him to rethink some everyday habits.

They also touch on upcoming Omaha REIA conversations, legal wholesaling, Berkshire weekend Airbnb hosting, and their recent interview with Andre, who found creative ways to make real estate work in a high-cost market through midterm rentals.

This episode is funny, honest, and a little chaotic — but buried inside the stories are real lessons about reputation, business, health, technology, and not being the person who blows up a deal at the finish line.
