We're kicking off our new summer sermon series, "Ascending the Hill," with Pastor Eric Ortscheid.

What does it mean to live as a pilgrim in a world that is not our home?

In Psalm 120, Pastor Eric explores how the journey toward Christ begins when we recognize our dissatisfaction with a broken world and develop a longing for God's kingdom. As followers of Jesus, we are called to see the world as it truly is, turn from what is temporary, and set our hearts on our true home in Christ.

  • Eyes on Jesus
    2026/06/02

In this message, Pastor Eric Ortscheid walks through Hebrews 12:1-3, reminding us that the Christian life is not a sprint but a marathon. As believers, we are called to lay aside every hindrance, fix our eyes on Jesus, and run with endurance the race set before us.

Jesus Himself is our greatest example. He endured the suffering of the cross, the shame, rejection, and hostility of sinners, all for the joy set before Him. Because He remained faithful through suffering, we can trust Him to sustain us through our own trials.

No matter what challenges, hardships, or opposition you may face, God's Word reminds us that our present sufferings are temporary compared to the glory that awaits those who belong to Christ. When we feel weary or discouraged, we can look again to Jesus and find renewed strength for the journey.

Main Point: Jesus will be faithful as we endure and continually fix our eyes upon Him.

    • Hebrews 2:10
    • Romans 8:18

Pastor Brandon McCain continues our series, “Seven: The Spirit’s Word to the Churches.”

In Revelation 3:7–13, Jesus speaks to the church in Philadelphia:

    Main Point:

Faithfulness to Jesus means trusting His authority and walking through the doors He opens.

Jesus reminds the church that He is holy, true, and sovereign over every opportunity. Though they had little strength, they remained faithful to His name—and He promises that what He opens, no one can shut.

Jesus calls His people to endure with perseverance, hold fast to truth, and live with confident hope in His promises.

    • Trust God with the next open door in front of you
    • Stay faithful even when you feel weak
    • Encourage someone to keep following Jesus

    Reflection:

Am I trusting Jesus enough to walk where He leads?
