What does it mean to live as a pilgrim in a world that is not our home?

In Psalm 120, Pastor Eric explores how the journey toward Christ begins when we recognize our dissatisfaction with a broken world and develop a longing for God's kingdom. Jesus Himself is our greatest example. He endured the suffering of the cross, the shame, rejection, and hostility of sinners, all for the joy set before Him. Because He remained faithful through suffering, we can trust Him to sustain us through our own trials.

No matter what challenges, hardships, or opposition you may face, God's Word reminds us that our present sufferings are temporary compared to the glory that awaits those who belong to Christ. When we feel weary or discouraged, we can look again to Jesus and find renewed strength for the journey.

Jesus calls His people to endure with perseverance, hold fast to truth, and live with confident hope in His promises.
