    He is challenging Diego Morales, the incumbent Indiana Secretary of State at the Indiana State Republican convention in June. Diego Morales is under a dark cloud of serious ethics issues which we delve into in-depth on this show.

    In the fall if David Shelton secures the nomination, he will likely be facing Beau Bayh, a 3rd generation "politically known family dynasty name" Democrat candidate. Polling indicates a solid conservative Republican candidate would beat Beau Bayh, however many in the Republican Party in Indiana are saying Bayh would easily beat Diego Morales because of the multitude of ethics issues facing Morales.
