You know these two, Jerry's forever lead guitar player, David Plenn, and the mighty singer/ guitar slinger,  Llory McDonald.  
We'll hear the story of how they met, Llory's induction into the Riopelle band, Dave and Llory's 1984 music project...  AND a song by song listen and commentary on one of Jerry Riopelle's most popular albums, Take a Chance!

3 words.  That was it.  
It was 1977.  She was 17, a Riopelle superfan, aspiring  writer/educator,  future published poet AND professor.
I'm talking about none other than Jerry Riopelle assistant and family friend, BECKY BYRKIT!

We'll hear about the impact those 3 simple words had on this teenaged Flagstaff girl, and how this creative, hilarious and endearingly absurd human discovered the world of words and music appreciation, which ultimately led her to the land of poetry and friendship with Jerry Riopelle and family.

The dynamic of 3 lifelong friends is unmistakable.  44 years of music, laughs, ups, downs and basically any direction you can think of. 
Joining me in the Room are my forever pals and bandmates, DAVID JENKINS and STEVEN WOLFSON! 

The story begins here.... in addition to our pre-teen endeavors of making Superman movies and performing for the neighborhood kids singing Beatles songs while playing our perfectly tuned tennis rackets, we were (and are) endlessly and forever inspired and motivated by our music mentor, my dad, Jerry Riopelle.

You're bound to get an emotional kick out of this one, especially if you have lifelong friends AND you happen to be a Jerry Riopelle fan! Oh, and there's a surprise guest and a very satisfying dose of Riopelle music!

In this episode I chat with Riopelle band singer & shaker, the inimitable, TARA AUSTIN!
Tara started singing in the Riopelle band in 2011 and performed in every live Jerry Riopelle show since.  You'll learn how she met Jerry, immediately felt a connection to the music and you may even shed a tear when she offers a small glimpse of the bond she feels with Jerry and one of his most endearing songs,  "Hey Old Friend".
Tara knocked it out of the park at both Riopelle tributes and she knocks it out of the park with one of her original songs you'll get to hear in this episode!

My friend for 26 years, old bandmate in  the AZ band, The Tellers, ANTHONY CIULLA visits the Room!  Yet another interesting perspective from one of my best friends, but this guy caught a  closeup of the early AZ Riopelle phenomenon, as he started calling Phoenix his home when he was a young lad in 1980.

joins Paul Riopelle for a chat in the Room!

This is a wonderful 43 minutes with Paul and Arizona music historian and archivist, Johnny D.
Take a ride with them as they discuss young Johnny's early love and fascination with vinyl records through his time working for major record labels,  concert production, music publishing and ultimately his work and friendship with our man, Jerry Riopelle. 

Of course, Johnny also shares a couple of his favorite Riopelle tunes here, so take a listen to this heartwarming remembrance from the one and only Johnny D!

Paul Riopelle is joined by esteemed recording engineer,  STEVEN ESCALLIER for this episode of the Riopelle Room!  During Steve's tenure at the legendary Sound City recording studio, he created and witnessed some of the greatest sounds and stories in rock history.  Not only did he work along side legendary producer, Keith Olsen, but also was 2nd recording engineer on the Riopelle albums, "Saving Grace" and "Take a Chance" and main recording engineer on Jerry's wonderful work, "Little Bit at a Time".

You're in for a treat  listening to the (often hilarious) rock & roll memories Steve shares with us from those magical days at Sound City!  

"Goody!"  That's what we call him.  Listen in as DAVID GOODSTEIN joins Paul Riopelle for a call into the Room.  Goody has been the drummer in the Jerry Riopelle band since 2011.

Goodstein shares his thoughts and stories about Jerry including  their first encounter which was essentially Goody playing drums and singing the lead vocal on Jerry's song, "Livin' the Life", from a live performance at a music club in L.A.....and Jerry listening...over the phone!

In addition to being an incredible drummer, this cat can sing!  He held a prominent spot at the Riopelle tributes and sang lead vocal (and played drums) on several of his favorite Riopelle tunes.

Goody has also played with Dolly Parton, Jackson Browne, Joe Perry and many, many more.
