What happens when the most important piece of evidence in a murder case is a confession that may have been coerced from a teenager with an IQ of 72? In June 1993, Jessie Misskelley sat alone in an interrogation room for twelve hours. Only forty-six minutes were recorded. What the tape captured was not truth -- it was pressure.

In this episode, we follow the interrogation tape that convicted three teenagers of murdering three eight-year-old boys in West Memphis, Arkansas. Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley were sentenced to death and life in prison based on a confession that an expert called a classic example of police coercion. Eighteen years later, DNA evidence showed none of them matched the crime scene.
