In this deeply human and expansive conversation, Dr Mel Baker sits down with leadership coach and heart‑led practitioner Chiron Yeng to explore the inner work that shapes authentic leadership.
Chiron shares his early life navigating chronic illness, the loss of control that defined his childhood, and the pivotal moment at sixteen when he chose a different path—turning toward psychology, philosophy, spiritual inquiry, and the healing power of nature. His journey takes an unexpected turn during the global COVID lockdown, when everything he had gained fell away and illness returned. In a moment of surrender, he asked, “Why am I not healed?” The answer came: You need to forgive yourself.
From that point, Chiron discovered that the heart is the centre of all things—the source of clarity, purpose, and leadership. He never chased leadership; it emerged from his own healing and inner alignment.
Together, Mel and Chiron explore how compassionate, vulnerable, heart‑centred leadership creates flourishing ecosystems. Drawing on a powerful analogy from South Africa, Chiron contrasts barren, over‑exploited land with a nurtured safari landscape where life thrives. Leadership, he says, is no different.
This conversation invites leaders to stop performing and start returning to themselves. To lead from purpose, not power. To create safety, not fear. And to begin with the question he asks in every workshop: “What is right with you?”
A rich, grounded, and transformative exploration of what it truly means to lead with heart.
