In this episode of The Inner D, I talk about something I’ve hinted at in past conversations but never directly named: living with bipolar disorder. For a long time, I didn’t have language for the emotional highs, the quiet lows, the isolation, and the overthinking that shaped how I experienced the world. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized it isn’t just something I “have.” It’s something that has influenced how I connect with people, how I retreat when things feel overwhelming, and how deeply I experience emotions.

I share what bipolar disorder actually looks like in my day to day life, beyond the stereotypes people often imagine. Sometimes the highs feel like clarity and creativity. Other times the lows are quieter, less dramatic and more like a heavy fog where everything takes more effort. I also talk about how anxiety and social anxiety layer into that experience, especially when it comes to relationships, overthinking conversations, and anticipating rejection before anything has even happened.

This episode is an honest reflection on isolation, emotional intensity, and learning the difference between functioning and actually being okay. More than anything, it’s about the process of naming what you’re going through and trying to find steadiness between the highs and the lows.

In this episode of The Inner D, I step into the world of fiction with a dramatic reading of my original thriller story Damaged.

The story follows Daniel “Dany” Kenway, a former college student pulled back into a city full of secrets after a mysterious death at a hospital and a second body near the riverfront reveal something far darker beneath the surface.

What begins as a strange incident quickly unfolds into a deeper conspiracy involving powerful figures, stolen data, and a past that refuses to stay buried, forcing Dany to confront corruption, power, and a system that was never meant to be challenged.

  • S1 EP 1: Welcome to Dayton
    2026/04/17

Freshman year of college was supposed to be exciting; new freedom, new people, and the chance to become someone new. But what nobody tells you is that when you leave home, you don’t leave your mind behind. In this first episode of The Inner D, I open up about one of the darkest moments of my freshman year, when questions about identity, worth, and belonging became overwhelming. Behind the smiles and everyday interactions, I was struggling silently and carrying thoughts I didn’t feel safe sharing with anyone.

That night became a turning point, not because I suddenly had everything figured out, but because it was the first time I spoke to God with complete honesty. From that moment forward, scriptures like Joshua 1:9, Jeremiah 29:11, Philippians 4:6–7, and Matthew 11:28 began to reshape how I saw struggle, faith, and purpose. This episode reflects on how those words didn’t instantly remove the hard days, but slowly rebuilt my mindset, reminding me that peace can exist even in the middle of anxiety and uncertainty.

The Inner D is about the conversations we have within ourselves; the quiet battles, the search for meaning, and the moments that redefine who we are. if you’re walking through a difficult season, i hope this story reminds you that you’re not alone and that asking for help is a sign of wisdom, not weakness. as Joshua 1:9 reminds us: “be strong and courageous… for the lord your god will be with you wherever you go.” even here.
