You know the feeling when you have outgrown your old self, but you cannot fully explain who you are becoming yet? That is the hallway season, and it can be one of the strangest places to live. I put words to that in-between space: not lost, not broken, not even confused, just standing between two doors with a closed chapter behind you and an unnamed version of you ahead.

I get honest about how personal growth and healing can make identity feel less tidy. The cost of becoming more truthful is often losing the ability to give simple answers. “Who am I?” starts sounding like “I’m a wife, and…” “I’m a mother, but…” “I’m ambitious, yet…” We talk about duality, boundaries, community, and why achievement might stop impressing you the way it used to when you start protecting your peace.

I also dig into why this season can be so disorienting: roles come with scripts, and scripts come with safety. When you stop living by other people’s instructions, you may disappoint those who benefited from the version of you that did not know herself yet. You might even miss parts of your old self, like certainty and quick categories, without wanting that life back.
