    2026/03/02

Hey there Beautiful Souls! Welcome to Day 29 of "Chaos to Clarity: Hearing God When Life is Loud" - a 30-day transformational journey on The Holy Shift Devotionals Podcast with Desiree Day.

    YOUR TESTIMONY IN PROGRESS

Today's permission-giving episode reveals why you don't have to wait until you're "done" to help someone else.

When Desiree wrote the first devotional, she was only WEEKS into truly discovering the walk. After 7 years one foot in/one foot out, she finally brought it ALL to God when she was lonely despite having love everywhere. Bit by bit, she surrendered every part.

She didn't know it would lead to publishing business or podcast. Didn't feel qualified. But felt God WITH her - more confident than ever even while still in worldly ways.

What changed: Didn't matter what others thought. Only had to answer to God. Took pressure off how to be around people - just follow Jesus' example.

But imposter syndrome: "I'm not a pastor, not a career publisher/writer." Thought she needed to wait for more biblical knowledge, learning from elders, staying calm when challenges came.

If she'd waited? Still waiting for someone to love her the way God is meant to. Still a victim. Probably still smoking weed.

STARTING THE PODCAST: Didn't have all series written. Still learning podcasting, creating good audio. Still couldn't tell you book/chapter/verse from memory.

HELPING MINISTRIES: Met with them, showed her work, said upfront "I'll still be figuring everything out." They trusted because she was honest.

DANIEL FAST: Told listeners "We're doing this for the first time together." Didn't know if she could stick to meal plan or get up early. If she'd done 5 fasts first: understanding and fellowship would be lost, not relatable for first-timers.

WHO WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN HELPED: Her pastor. The friend whose life was saved. People God put in her path to test jump time.

THE REALITY: She's STILL in her first year of lifestyle with God. Recording this podcast in her first year. Not done. Not fully transformed. Not an expert. In process. Helping people WHILE in process.

    IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL DISCOVER:

    • 2 Corinthians 12:9 - "My power is made perfect in weakness"

    • Why Desiree started weeks (not years) into the walk

    • How being upfront about "still figuring it out" builds trust

    • Why relatability matters more than expertise

    • What she'd still be waiting for if she hadn't started

    • How transformation came THROUGH starting, not before

    • The principle: God uses your process, not just your perfection

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 12:9 - "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

YOUR HOLY SHIFT ACTION: Ask God what you've been waiting to be "ready" for. Ask what you're waiting for to feel qualified. Cross it out. Write: "God's power is made perfect in my weakness." START today.

  • E128: Day 27 The Courage to Share Your Story | Chaos to Clarity
    2026/02/28

THE COURAGE TO SHARE YOUR STORY

Today's vulnerable episode tackles the gap between knowing God called you to help people and actually opening your mouth to share your story.

    THE FEARS:

Desiree was afraid people would stop listening - that they'd dodge her like when she did network marketing for health supplements. Afraid she didn't know all the scripture in the Bible - what if someone challenged her on "how Christian" she was? At the time she wouldn't have thought of people bringing up her old ways to judge her, but recently she's seen others do exactly that.

For a long time she shared that "God transformed me" - but never fully shared her actual struggles. There are still parts she's leaving in the past that she hasn't shared yet. But being open about smoking weed throughout this series? That's new.

    THE DECISION:

Just recently she decided to start talking about her journey with weed publicly. She knows others it could help. But she didn't want to talk about it before for professional reasons. Now that she's self-employed, she feels freedom to share more personal experiences.

    WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED:

People might silently judge but not to her face - she prays for them. People who aren't on board kind of faded away. Nothing big or reactive happened. As she spoke more about her testimony, people of God got closer. Her women's group and even her grandma always knew about it anyway.

    WHAT GAVE HER COURAGE:

The prompting from God. The undeniable transformations she witnessed - she was so amazed she had to share them. She's a person who loves to help people. Helping people learn about God more was a no-brainer.

    IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL DISCOVER:

    • 2 Timothy 1:7 - "The Spirit God gave us does not make us timid"

    • What she was afraid of vs. what actually happened

    • Why people of God got closer while others faded away

    • How being self-employed removed the professional barrier

    • Why your testimony doesn't need defending - God's transformation speaks for itself

    • The principle: Your fear of judgment is keeping someone in the chaos you just got out of

    • Why the breakthrough is too good to keep quiet

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:2 Timothy 1:7 - "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."

YOUR HOLY SHIFT ACTION:Ask God what part of your testimony you've been keeping quiet because of fear. Then ask who needs to hear it. Share it with one person today.
