☕ The Holy Espresso Podcast | The Road to the Cross

As Jesus’ earthly ministry draws to a close, every word, every act, and every step begins pointing toward the cross.

In The Road to the Cross, we journey through the final days and teachings of Jesus, exploring the moments that reveal His humility, His love for His disciples, the fulfillment of Scripture, and God’s redemptive plan.

We begin with Jesus’ powerful declaration, “I am the vine,” and discuss what it means to abide in Christ. From there, we follow Jesus into Jerusalem during the Triumphal Entry, as the crowds cry, “Hosanna!” and welcome Him as King.

We then enter the intimacy of the Last Supper, where Jesus gives new meaning to the bread and the cup, washes His disciples’ feet in an extraordinary demonstration of servant leadership, and warns Peter about the failure that is coming—while assuring him that He has already prayed for him.

But as the cross draws closer, the story becomes even more intense.

We examine the betrayal of Judas Iscariot and ask one of the most difficult theological questions surrounding his story:

Was Judas predestined to betray Jesus—or did he have a choice?

We explore Psalm 41:9 and John 13, considering biblical prophecy, God's sovereignty, human responsibility, and the mystery surrounding Judas' actions.

Then Jesus gives His disciples an incredible promise.

    🕊️ The Helper is coming.

Jesus tells them that He will not leave them alone. We discuss the identity and ministry of the Holy Spirit—the Helper, the Parakletos—and what His presence means for believers today.

Finally, we turn to John 17 and Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer, one of the most extraordinary prayers recorded in Scripture. With the cross approaching, Jesus prays for His disciples—and for those who would later believe through their testimony.

Through all of these moments, one truth becomes increasingly clear:

The cross was not an accident. Jesus knew where He was going, and He willingly continued toward Calvary to accomplish the work of redemption.

Whether you've followed Christ for years or you're simply trying to understand who Jesus is, we invite you to grab an espresso ☕, open your Bible 📖, and join the conversation.
