概要
The History of Podcasting: Origins and Early Days
The history of podcasting begins in the early 2000s, at the intersection of blogging culture and digital audio technology. In 2000, software developer Dave Winer developed RSS 0.92, which included the "enclosure" tag—a crucial feature allowing audio files to be attached to web feed entries. This technical innovation would prove to be the foundation of podcasting.
Welcome to the Sersea Podcast Network Podcast, the official podcast of a network of more than two dozen transformative podcasts,
This is a place built for learners — English learners taking their first brave steps in a new language, and lifelong learners who simply never want to stop growing.
Every podcast on this network was created by Maestro Sersea — educator, author, and music producer — with one belief at the core: learning should be free, engaging, and available to everyone.
Whether you're building everyday English for work and life, exploring the cultures and histories of the world, or wrestling with the big ideas that shape how we live — there's a podcast here for you.
And many of our episodes come with something extra: Articles from "The Power of Podcasting", which include key vocabulary, articles, and comprehensive questions and answers on the topic of podcasting so you can take your learning even further.
From the new immigrant finding their voice, to the curious mind who loves ideas — this network was made with you in mind.
So, tune in. Read along. Think deeply.
And never stop learning.
