In March 1922, six people were murdered on an isolated farm in rural Bavaria: the Gruber family, their two young grandchildren, and a newly arrived maid. Hinterkaifeck remains one of Germany’s most notorious unsolved crimes, with strange noises in the attic, footprints in the snow leading to the farm but none leaving, and a killer who may have stayed on the property for days afterward.
On Evil Uncovered, we examine the case from the beginning: the farm and its remote setting, the family and the maids who lived there, and the investigation that has puzzled historians and true crime fans for over a century. Join us as we separate documented fact from legend and ask who was behind one of the darkest mysteries in European history.

Accuracy. I make every effort to present information accurately and fairly. However, many cases, especially historical ones, involve conflicting accounts, incomplete records, translation issues, and ongoing debate. If sources disagree or the facts may be uncertain, I’ll try to say so. Theories, speculation, and interpretations are presented as such and should not be taken as established fact. Information may be updated or corrected as new evidence emerges. If you spot an error, please contact me at eviluncoveredinfo@gmail.com and I will review it.
Not professional advice. This podcast is for education and entertainment only. Nothing in it is legal, medical, psychological, or investigative advice.
Respect for victims and families. The cases discussed involve real people and real tragedy. Episodes are made with respect for victims, survivors, and their families. Some episodes contain descriptions of violence, death, and other distressing themes, and listener discretion is advised.
Allegations and suspects. Anyone named as a suspect, accused, or person of interest is presumed innocent unless they were convicted in a court of law. Opinions expressed about unsolved or disputed cases are my own and are not statements of fact about any individual.
