While much of the city was quiet, a group of experienced criminals was preparing one of the most ambitious burglaries in British criminal history.
Their target was the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Company, located in the heart of London's famous jewellery district.

Get inside the building.
Reach the vault.
Break through the wall.
Empty as many safe-deposit boxes as possible.
And disappear before anyone realized what had happened.
But the operation was anything but simple.
The men involved were mostly older, experienced criminals who had spent years in the world of organized crime.
They had tools.
Vehicles.
A detailed plan.
And an entire holiday weekend in which they believed they could operate with limited attention.
But they also made mistakes.
And those mistakes would eventually help investigators identify them.
