  • Psychiatrist EXPOSES Why You Keep Getting Anxiety Meds Instead of Answers
    2026/09/24

If every answer to your anxiety is just another prescription, you probably need a new doctor. That's coming from a psychiatrist who prescribes anxiety medication every day. Medication can help, but if nobody is asking why you're anxious or why your last three treatments didn't work, someone is missing the bigger picture.

In this episode, I'm going to break down why fragmented care keeps people stuck on medication without answers, and what a truly coordinated psychiatric treatment plan looks like instead.

0:45 The case that exposed fragmented care
2:33 How one problem turns into five
4:07 What we do differently at Enhance Psych
5:33 Why medicine is divided into silos
7:06 When I look outside psychiatry for answers
8:31 Why more treatments isn't always better
9:22 The truth about SSRIs and side effects
11:43 Why concierge care means integration
14:00 Reopening the case before prescription four

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why do I keep getting new anxiety medications instead of real answers?
Because most healthcare systems are divided into silos where each provider only looks at their own piece of the puzzle. Nobody is coordinating the whole picture, so the easiest response becomes another prescription.

What should happen before starting a fourth or fifth anxiety medication?
A good psychiatrist should reopen the whole case and ask what actually improved, what got worse, and which symptoms only appeared after treatment started. Sometimes the diagnosis needs to change or another medical issue is driving the anxiety.

Are SSRIs always the right first choice for anxiety?
SSRIs are considered low risk and are often prescribed first, but they are not automatically the right medication for every person. Side effects and treatment failures are common, which is why a broader workup matters.

  • 4 Surprising Reasons Your GLP-1 Stopped Working (And What to Do About It)
    2026/09/17

📌 Learn more about integrative psychiatric care at https://www.enhancepsych.com

Your weight stopped moving and it is almost never the dose. If you are on a GLP-1 and hit a wall, there are four reasons this happens, and most people never hear about three of them. I prescribe these medications to hundreds of patients and I have been on one myself, so I know exactly what that plateau feels like.

In this episode, I'm going to break down the four real reasons your GLP-1 progress stalls and walk you through exactly what to do about each one.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 4 Surprising Reasons Your GLP-1 Stopped Working (And What to Do About It)
0:25 Is it actually a stall or just noise
0:54 Reason 1, losing muscle instead of fat
1:38 Protein and resistance training fix
1:56 Reason 2, sleep canceling out the medication
2:39 How stress blocks fat loss
3:22 Reason 3, an untreated root cause
4:00 Reason 4, another prescription working against you
4:32 How to know it is time for a real conversation
4:44 Questions to bring to your next appointment

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why did my GLP-1 stop working even though I did not change anything?
It is rarely the dose. The most common causes are losing muscle instead of fat, poor sleep raising cortisol, an untreated root issue like insulin resistance, or another medication working against the GLP-1.

How long should I wait before calling a plateau real?
Two weeks of no movement is normal noise. If the scale has been flat for six weeks or more with no changes in how your clothes fit, it is worth investigating.

Can other medications cancel out a GLP-1?
Yes. Many medications prescribed for mood, sleep, or anxiety can drive weight gain, and if the two prescribers are not looking at the same full picture, this can go unnoticed for months.

  • How to Fix Your Sleep Tonight: A Psychiatrist's 5-Step System
    2026/09/10

📌 Learn more about integrative psychiatric care at https://www.enhancepsych.com

You do not have insomnia. You have a light scheduling problem, a blood sugar problem, or a nervous system stuck in overdrive. If you have tried melatonin, sleep podcasts, and putting your phone away and still wake up exhausted, the real fix is deeper than any of those tricks.

In this episode, I'm going to walk you through my five step system for fixing your sleep tonight, the same framework I use with my own patients and in my own life.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 How to Fix Your Sleep Tonight: A Psychiatrist's 5-Step System
0:57 Why your light exposure is backwards
2:45 Fixing your circadian rhythm with morning light
4:15 Why blood sugar wakes you at 3am
6:35 The alcohol and sleep connection nobody wants to hear
9:59 When it's not insomnia, it's sleep apnea
10:41 Why your nervous system won't shut down
14:07 Yoga nidra and non sleep deep rest explained
17:12 The two rules for a healthy sleep association
20:08 Building your 30 minute sleep runway tonight

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

What causes waking up at 3am every night?
Waking between 2 and 4 a.m. is often caused by a drop in blood sugar overnight, which triggers cortisol and adrenaline release that jolts you awake. It can also be caused by alcohol, which sedates you at first but creates rebound arousal a few hours later.

How can I stop my mind from racing at bedtime?
A racing mind at bedtime usually means your nervous system is stuck in fight or flight mode rather than a lack of sleepiness. Practices like yoga nidra or box breathing help shift your body into a parasympathetic, rest and digest state so sleep can actually happen.

What is yoga nidra and does it help with sleep?
Yoga nidra, also called non sleep deep rest, is a guided lying down practice that lowers physiological arousal and improves heart rate variability and sleep quality. It is not a replacement for sleep, but it can quickly calm a wired nervous system before bed.
