Nobody talks about the grief that comes with losing desire. You didn't lose a person. There was no dramatic event. But something that was once alive in your relationship...something you used to want, something that felt like yours, is gone. And you miss it. You might not even have permission to call it grief. But that's what it is.

In this episode, I'm giving you permission to grieve the intimacy you've lost, naming what that grief actually includes, and showing you why acknowledging it is the necessary first step toward building something new.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: Is it normal to grieve the loss of desire or intimacy in my marriage?
A: Yes. Losing the version of yourself who had desire, the ease of early intimacy, and the feeling of being wanted are real losses, and grief is the appropriate response, even though there's no obvious event to point to.

Q: Why do I feel sad or numb about my relationship even though nothing "bad" happened?
A: Unacknowledged grief migrates into numbness, resentment, or a persistent sense that something's missing. Skipped grief goes underground and quietly affects everything above it.

Q: How do I actually move through this kind of grief instead of just trying to fix the problem?
A: Name what you specifically miss rather than staying vague, let yourself feel the sadness without immediately pivoting to solutions, and share the grief with your partner when it feels safe. Acknowledged grief moves; bypassed grief becomes permanent background noise.
