In this episode, we follow the sequence of events recorded in the log and in witness statements to trace the Mira Luz passage from Brunswick to its final, fiery night, and we ask how mechanical failure, weather and routine decisions combined to create an impossible rescue puzzle.

- The Mira Luz loaded 112 gallons of diesel at Brunswick City Dock the evening before departure.
- At 21:17 on September 2 the port engine died after hours of high-temperature alarms.
- Shannon recorded a manual position fix at 23:45 and the fire ignited at approximately 23:51.
- Roughly 100 gallons of diesel remained aboard when the port engine was silenced and diesel had pooled in the bilge.
- The EPIRB was deployed on its tether (driza) during the onboard fire response.
