Finding genuine peace that lasts feels nearly impossible when anxiety and worry seem to be our constant companion. In this sermon on Matthew 6:25–34, Pastor Maiola Vivas helps us to look at Jesus' tender yet direct command to not be anxious about the daily necessities of life. Rather than dismissing our concerns, Jesus gently draws our eyes to creation. He reminds us of how the Father feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field. When we look to Him, we realize just how deeply valued and loved we are by Him.
It's in knowing this love of His that brings true peace. We put our trust in the character of our Heavenly Father, resting in the fact that he already knows every need we have. Instead of living like those who frantically chase after temporary security, we are invited to shift our posture from fear to faith.
When we stop trying to control tomorrow and instead cast our anxieties on Him, we are freed to experience a life rooted in His care. Pastor Maiola offers a helpful perspective on what it means to practically seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness, letting go of tomorrow's worries to rest in His faithful provision today.
