Deuteronomy 18:18 Moses prophesied that God would raise up another prophet like him.

John 1:19-21; 6:14; 7:37-38, 40 John the Baptist denied that he was “the prophet.” People wondered if Jesus was the prophet. Over time, some came to believe that he was.

John 8:25-29; 12:44-50 Jesus claimed to speak as the Father instructed him and do what was pleasing to him. Thus, Jesus not only claimed to be “the prophet” in word, but also in deed. In fact, Jesus never sinned (2 Cor 5:21; Heb 4:15; 1 Pet 2:22; 1 John 3:5).
