  • 38. Mentorship: A Shared Life Sustained by God feat. Emily Jamieson
    2026/03/31

In this episode of The Giving Experience Podcast, Chad Hauer and Josh Powell sit with Emily Jamieson to explore mentorship as a lived rhythm: being present with others, then returning to the sacred place to receive the Bread of Life. Emily reflects on how mentorship shaped her faith at a young age and how walking with others requires both availability and intentional withdrawal to remain whole.

The conversation offers a grounded look at where to find a mentor, how to recognize when you’re called to mentor someone else, and what it takes to be a faithful guide without striving or burnout. Together, they name the quiet truth that we can’t lead others any deeper than we’ve gone ourselves — and why staying rooted in God is essential if mentorship is going to be life-giving rather than draining.

This episode is an invitation to see mentorship not as something you do, but as a way of life — one shaped by presence, humility, and a steady return to the source of life.

  • 37. Stay Here: Suicide Prevention, Mental Health, and Faith with Jacob Coyne
    2026/03/24

There is often uncertainty in faith communities about how to talk about mental health—how to pray when someone is suicidal, whether medication is okay, and other questions many quietly wrestle with.

In this episode of The Giving Experience Podcast, Chad Hauer and Josh Powell sit down with Jacob Coyne for an honest conversation about suicide prevention, mental health, and faith.

Every day in America, more than 1,500 high school students attempt suicide. Every 40 seconds, someone dies. Globally, over 800,000 lives are lost each year—making suicide the second leading cause of death among young people.

Jacob shares his journey as a pastor and public faith leader, reflecting on the responsibility of influence, the tension between faith and visibility, and the real questions believers face when suffering doesn’t have simple answers.

The conversation centers on Stay Here, a suicide-prevention initiative focused on presence, conversation, and access to help. In partnership with the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, the initiative aims to distribute one million high-tech wristbands that connect people to critical mental health resources.

This episode is a call to speak clearly, stay present, and take mental health seriously—especially within the church.

  • 36. Faith Doesn’t Erase the Pain, It Carries You Through It feat. Stephen Roddy
    2025/05/06

Grief changes everything. When you’ve lost someone you love, even getting through the day can feel impossible.

Stephen Roddy has been there. After losing his father at 13 and his mother just a few years later, the pain nearly consumed him. But in the middle of his heartbreak, God met him—through people, through moments of grace, and through a quiet strength he didn’t know he had.

In this episode, Stephen opens up about the long, painful road of loss—and how, little by little, he found joy again. If you're feeling broken or stuck in sorrow, his story will gently remind you: healing is possible. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to stay in this place forever.
