This week, Geek Speak Classics goes waaayyy back to Season 1. This was back when the show was called The Geek Speak Radio Show and was a live, two-hour show, not a podcast. This is the second hour of the second day, when the topic of video game addiction was discussed with author Ryan Van Cleave and his book, Unplugged: My Journey Into The Dark World of Video Game Addiction. Plus, Henry explains how YOU can be a part of this year's Halloween Episode.

While The Geek Speak Show studio installs new upgrades, you'll be able to listen to past episodes or segments. The first Geek Speak Classics features three segments about Batman. First, you'll hear part of a longer chat with Michael Uslan. Michael is responsible for all Batman films since Tim Burton's 1989 Batman to now. Then, director Brett Culp talks about Batman inspiring people facing adversaties in their lives, as seen in his documentary, Legends of the Knight. Finally, Henry goes back to a few days before San Francisco transformed into Gotham City & was saved from supervillains by Bat Kid. Patricia Wilson from The Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation talks about how The City By The Bay came together to make the wish of then-10-year-old Miles Scott come true.

Henry San Miguel is joined by the Nerdy Navajo Shanclen & the hosts of Geek Off The Street, Marc Pope & Trent Tucker. They discuss the 60th Anniversary of Star Trek and what the future of Star Trek may look like...no, what it should look like. What can Paramount/Skydance do to bring in the generations that are closer to the 23rd Century than the long-time fans were? Then, they look forward to Star Wars' 50th Anniversary by talking about where it should go under new creative leadership.

The Geek Speak Show will be taking a three-week break and return in October with all new episodes.

This is The Geek Speak Show's Star Trek60 celebration! Henry starts the episode by sharing how Star Trek first came into his life. It's not how you would think, as you'll hear in his story. Then, he plays the opening remarks from Rod Roddenberry from the Star Trek60 panel at San Diego Comic-Con. He's joined by Joe Sikoryak to talk about how Star Trek influenced (and arguably created) the fan & convention culture we see today. You can watch this interview on the show's YouTube channel.

Henry welcomes Gavin Hignight back to the show. Gavin( along with his business partner Doc Wyatt) is now the co-founder of Wandering Planet Toys and they're about to launch a Kickstarter campaign for their original action figure line, Planetoid Raiders. Gavin talks about starting the company...during a global pandemic, who collects actin figures in a digital world and more. After that, Henry celebrates The Geek Speak Show's 16th Anniversary, which was actually on Sunday, August 9th. After replaying the very first interview with San Diego Comic-Con's David Glanzer from 16 years ago, Henry reflects on the past sixteen years of Geek Speak. The hosts, the guests and why he still speaks geek all these years later.
