  • Have You Broken Your PDF Huddle Yet?
    2026/09/22

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

You can have a financial plan on paper and still never execute the play.

In Episode 8 of The Forever and a Day Show, Sean and Antoinette McDonald share the honest story of how they moved from payday loans, skipped bills, overdraft fees, and more than $250,000 in consumer debt to becoming debt-free. They reflect on the mentors who helped them create a budget, understand financial accountability, and begin making decisions as one team.

Sean and Antoinette call their approach the PDF huddle: becoming properly protected, achieving debt freedom, and working toward financial independence. They explain the 10-15-75 framework they adopted for their household, with 10% directed toward tithing, 15% toward debt reduction or investing, and 75% reserved for living expenses. They also describe using visual payoff charts, focusing additional payments on one balance at a time, and rolling each completed payment into the next debt.

The episode goes beyond numbers. Sean and Antoinette discuss the emotional work behind financial change, including the tension between a saver and a spender, the temptation to return to old habits, and the importance of communicating without shame or control. They share how monthly budget meetings and trusted accountability partners helped them turn financial knowledge into consistent action.

Listeners will also hear their perspective on the rule of 72, paying versus earning interest, planning for recurring expenses, celebrating progress, and building a legacy for future generations. Their story shows how faith, discipline, grace, and a shared vision can help a couple move forward together.

Episode 8, Have You Broken Your PDF Huddle Yet?, challenges listeners to gather their numbers, have an honest conversation, identify one financial priority, and begin executing the plan.

Consider this week’s question: Are you only talking about your financial goals, or are you running the play that can help you reach them?

  • The Year "That Was" and "Still Is"
    2026/09/15

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

The conversation no family wants to have may be the one every family needs most.

In Episode 7 of The Forever and a Day Show, Sean and Antoinette McDonald discuss how families can prepare for the practical and financial realities that follow the death of a loved one. Drawing from personal loss, job changes, health concerns, and the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, they share why preparation became an important expression of love, responsibility, faith, and stewardship in their own family.

Sean and Antoinette reflect on taking their children to a funeral home during the pandemic so the family could understand the process, discuss final wishes, and create a plan before an emergency occurred. They explore the importance of locating essential paperwork, reviewing beneficiaries, documenting personal wishes, discussing life insurance, protecting income, and making sure loved ones know who to contact.

The conversation also addresses the confusion, financial pressure, and resentment that can affect families when plans are unclear. Their message is not rooted in fear or shame. It is a reminder that one honest conversation can reduce uncertainty and help loved ones focus on grieving rather than searching for answers.

Antoinette also introduces her guidebook, I’ve Passed, Now What Do I Do? The resource helps families organize emergency contacts, employment details, subscriptions, financial accounts, investments, insurance policies, beneficiaries, utilities, funeral preferences, sentimental belongings, pet information, letters to loved ones, and responsibilities for designated family members.

Episode 7, The Year "That Was" and "Still Is", challenges listeners to make the calls, ask where important paperwork is located, confirm that beneficiaries and contact information are current, and begin documenting their own wishes.

Consider this week’s question: Are you in a position to leave your family with clarity and peace of mind?

New episodes of The Forever and a Day Show are released every Tuesday on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all major podcast platforms.

  • The Way We Handle Conflict Now vs Then
    2026/09/08

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

One misunderstood look at an auto auction turned into an impulsive purchase, an explosive argument, and nearly three days of silence.

In Episode 6 of The Forever and a Day Show, Sean and Antoinette McDonald revisit the 2018 conflict that began when Sean mistakenly interpreted Antoinette’s interest in a Ford Explorer as permission to bid. Before they could clarify the decision, the vehicle was theirs and both spouses were left dealing with the consequences of excitement, fear of missing out, assumptions, and poor communication.

Antoinette shares how the purchase made her feel dismissed, excluded, and unvalued. Sean reflects on the role that impulse, emotion, and ego played in his decision. Together, they discuss how angry words, absolute phrases such as “you always” and “you never,” and the silent treatment can deepen a disagreement rather than resolve it.

The couple then explains the healthier conflict strategies they use today through their THINK and PAUSE Communication Toolkit. THINK asks couples to consider whether their words are true, helpful, in love, necessary, and kind. PAUSE encourages them to pause their response, acknowledge the moment, understand before responding, set a better time if needed, and engage with intention.

This faith-centered conversation reminds couples that conflict is a problem to solve together not a battle one spouse must win. Healthy communication requires clarity, accountability, empathy, prayer, and the willingness to protect the relationship even when emotions are high.

As Sean and Antoinette explain, “Speak to protect the relationship, not win the moment.”

Listen and share this episode with someone who needs it. Then consider this week’s question: What is one word, habit, or reaction you need to pause before using during conflict?

Churches, marriage ministries, conferences, and retreats can connect with Sean and Antoinette to learn more about workshops featuring the THINK and PAUSE Communication Toolkit.
