In each episode, I provide a forensic and criminal analysis and evaluations of both historical and current criminal cases. Rather than focusing solely on the events of a crime, we explore the precipitating factors that help explain why crimes occur and how they can be prevented. The podcast examines both instrumental crimes—such as retail theft (shoplifting, organized retail crime (ORC) rings, shoplifting) drug sales (Texas smuggling, drug distribution drug trafficking), gambling-related offenses, burglary, robbery—and expressive crimes, including murder, assault, and other acts of violence. Whenever possible, I incorporate criminal intelligence, criminal investigations, criminological theories, victimology theories and behavioral analysis to provide a deeper understanding of offenders, motives, and patterns of criminal behavior. In addition to case analyses, we discuss current crime news and emerging issues affecting communities and the criminal justice system. The podcast also explores the relationship between crime and substance use disorders, with discussions on addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, rehabilitation, and crime desistance. These conversations are grounded in research and informed by forensic psychology, criminal psychology, criminology, and criminal justice to promote understanding, education, and evidence-based practice.
