In this episode, Dr. Saul Rosenthal talks with Dr. Tom Collura and Bill Brubaker about emerging ways of thinking about QEEG and neurofeedback. They introduce Brain Oscillatory Tensegrity, a framework that draws on cybernetics, complexity science, architecture, and neuroscience to understand how brain rhythms may work together to support resilience and adaptability.

The conversation explores the difference between stability and rigidity, the importance of helping the brain respond flexibly and appropriately to changing demands, and how chronic pain may illustrate these principles. Tom and Bill also discuss the growing role of artificial intelligence in QEEG, emphasizing AI as a tool for identifying patterns and developing ideas rather than a substitute for human judgment.

Along the way, they consider how newer approaches involving networks, connectivity, entropy, criticality, and phase may build upon rather than replace traditional neurofeedback protocols.

Tom Collura and Bill Brubaker will present “Advancements in QEEG and Neurofeedback Using AI and Brain Oscillatory Tensegrity” at the 2026 Northeast Region Biofeedback Society Annual Conference, held virtually September 26–27.
