After a brief showing in early July, the bonito are back and it seems like they’re here to stay, this time. A strong push of bones swung into the South County shoreline and moved east, with strong catches along the entire Rhody shoreline and up into Buzzards Bay. We also saw a continuation of the increasing fluke bite with good reports from Block Island, eastern Long Island Sound, Nantucket Sound and even some good reports from Duxbury Bay. Striper action continues to hold strong, but shark depredation remains a major issue throughout southern New England.

Some quality fluke reported out of the Shark River Inlet fleet in the past week is evidence enough of an improving bite out along the inshore sticky stuff. We'll run down a few of the latest catches reported back to us here at The Fisherman Magazine for the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region, with fluke, sheepshead, and blowfish, perhaps backed up with a steamer-full of little necks (6:40).
