  • July 9th 2026 New Jersey/Delaware Bay Fishing Report with Jim Hutchinson, Jr.
    2026/07/09

The intro video of the week comes courtesy of Frank Viscuso @fireinsidepodcast who shot the striking footage of an immense shark swimming in shallow surf waters of Ocean County at the Jersey Shore in the leadup to the Fourth of July. Fret not, it was just a harmless basking shark, but it's a good reminder about the Thursday, May 9th meeting of the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council. A rundown on the latest fishing action at the Jersey Shore (5:00) including an update on fluke, and a look inside the July edition of The Fisherman with a focus on South Jersey Sheepshead (11:00) as that fishery spreads north. We'll follow that up with a look at surf options this week and the weekend weather forecast, before turning our attention to the east (14:20) with the Canyon Runner offshore report. Check out the latest updates (22:00) in our "members only" Dream Boat Fishing Challenge as the field begins to open up, plus we look at the fluke tournaments coming up this weekend (25:00) locally while fishing up with exclusive video with George and Josh @PoconoOutdoorsGuy on the hunt for smallies and trout in the cool, clear Pocono Mountains.

  • July 9th 2026 New England Video Fishing Forecast with Dave Anderson
    2026/07/09

The weekend’s summer heat kicked the local summer flounder up a few gears with increased action reported from Nantucket to Newport. But, as has been the case for most of the season, striped bass are still the main topic of conversation. Pockets of large stripers are holding steady in the Race, Block Island and central Rhode Island with cows over the 40-pound mark fairly common, day and night. We also saw our first summer exotics this week, with confirmed catches of triggerfish in Rhode Island and rumors of a few banded rudderfish, as well.
