Episode 8 — "The First"

January third, Atlas made himself a promise. Nobody heard it. Nothing was riding on it except his own opinion of himself.

Four weeks later, he was standing in a room he didn't belong in, watching a woman across the floor who was standing with somebody else.

He told her something true that night. It's the only true thing he said all year — and it worked so well he never needed the truth again.

This episode is the trial for a verdict you already heard. In The Code, you watched him build an off-ramp and put a woman's hands on the wheel. Tonight you find out who she was, what she saw, and the one sentence she said on the way out that he couldn't answer.

She caught him. Just not for the right thing.
