  • My Kids Are All Grown Up. Am I Still Willing To Grow With Them?
    2026/06/05

My kids are all grown up.

And lately I've been wrestling with a question I never expected to ask:

Am I willing to grow with them?

As my children build lives of their own and my wife and I enter a new season of life, I'm realizing that the people I love most aren't the same people they were a few years ago.

    Neither am I.

In this episode, I reflect on fatherhood, marriage, leadership, reinvention, and the challenge of continuing to learn, love, and lead when everyone around you is changing at the same time.

Because sometimes the standards that shaped us into the men we became...

are the same ones that challenge us the most today.

  • I Got Pushed Into Manhood At 12
    2026/05/05

    At 12 years old…
    I wasn’t guided into manhood.

    I was pushed.

    No conversation.
    No preparation.
    No model to follow.

Just a moment that forced me to grow up faster than I was ready for.

    Looking back now…
I realize that moment shaped how I showed up as a man:

    As a father
    As a husband
    As an entrepreneur

And not always in the way I would have chosen.

    This episode isn’t polished.

    It’s not a framework.

It’s a real story about what happens when a boy is forced to become a man…
before he understands what that even means.

    If you’ve ever felt like:

You had to figure it out on your own…
You were carrying responsibility too early…
Or you’re still unpacking what manhood really looks like…

    This one will hit.

  • What If Your Business Is Costing You More Than You Want to Pay?
    2026/04/19

    What if success…
is costing you more than you realize?

    That almost happened to me.

    After 30+ years in business…
this is one of the hardest lessons I’ve learned:

👉 Every business has a price
    👉 But there’s also a cost

    And the cost?
    You don’t see it coming.

    It shows up over time…

    • In your time
    • In your health
    • In your relationships
    • In your peace of mind

    It’s the invisible tax
    your business collects from you…
    and the people you love.

I haven’t figured out how to avoid it completely.

    But I’ve learned this:

    If you’re building something…
be intentional about minimizing the cost.

    Because success in business...

shouldn’t come at the expense of your life.

  • 30 Years & No Paycheck: 3 Hard Truths About Entrepreneurship (Part 1)
    2026/03/22

Most men start a business for freedom—
more money, more time, more control.

But what if the truth is the opposite?

In this episode, Michael Denniston breaks down the real cost of entrepreneurship after more than 30 years in business—across multiple industries and seasons of success and struggle.

This isn’t theory. It’s what it actually takes.

    Inside Part 1:

    • Why starting a business for money is a mistake
    • The truth about “time freedom” (and why the business owns you first)
    • Why passion alone won’t pay the bills
    • The 3 gut-check questions every entrepreneur must answer before they start

    Entrepreneurship can change your life.
But it will also test your time, your energy, and your identity as a man.

In Part 2, we go deeper—into the cost most men never talk about…
the price your family pays while you’re building your vision.

If this hit home, don’t just listen—act on it.

    👉 Follow the show so you don’t miss Part 2;
    👉 Share this episode with another man who’s building something for his family;
👉 And send it to the people who love him—so they understand the cost too.

Strong men. Strong families. Strong legacies.

  • If You Leave It… They’ll List It | Legacy vs Inheritance (Episode 6)
    2026/03/07

    Legacy Series | Episode 6

Only about 20% of Americans receive an inheritance.

And even when they do, most inherited homes, businesses, and assets are eventually sold.

As fathers and entrepreneurs, many of us justify our long hours and missed dinners by telling ourselves we are “building something for their future.”

But the data tells a harder truth.

    Most men won’t leave a life-changing inheritance.

And even if they do, the next generation often liquidates the assets faster than we ever imagined.

In this first video episode of the podcast, Michael Denniston — father of three and a serial entrepreneur for over 30 years — explores the deeper question behind inheritance and legacy.

    The Liquidation Reality

Why are inherited houses, businesses, and assets often sold soon after they are transferred?

    Market Volatility
How recessions, pandemics, and health crises can wipe out a lifetime of savings in weeks.

    Life Stewardship
Why raising your personal standards — even after your kids are grown — may be the ultimate test of a First Man.

    Inheritance is what we leave.

    Legacy is how we live.

    So the real question becomes:

Are you building assets… or building legacy?

Drop Michael a voice memo and share your thoughts:

Is it harder to be a financial steward or a life steward?
