    In this episode, our focus is on Write Club. What is Write Club? Exactly what it sounds like: a club for writers and other creators. In this case, young writers between the ages of 13 and 18. You will hear an interview with members of Write Club in conversation with each other about what Write Club means to them. This conversation took place in April 2026 in Dublin. Also, you will hear Write Club members reading their creative work at our recent Story Slam open mic event in March. Enjoy!

    Did I Ever Tell You, is a wonderful collection of stories and interviews with the residents and staff at St. Vincent’s Care Centre in Athlone and Cluain Lir Care Centre in Mullingar Westmeath, over the winter months of 2024 and into the spring of 2025. This project was funded by Creative Ireland for Creative Health and Wellbeing Programmes for HSE Care Settings in Kildare, Offaly and Westmeath.

What began as an exploration of words and objects became a deeply cathartic process, revealing new ways of seeing, interpreting, and connecting with museum collections. Through honest and thoughtful conversations, the episode captures how writing opened doors to fresh interpretations and emotional resonance with the past. Featuring readings and interviews with project participants from the Irish Refugee Council Youth Group, local Dubliners from Fatima Groups United Community Centre and a group of Ukrainian women from the Liberties Community Project (formerly SICCDA), facilitator Hazel Hogan, Fighting Words Operations Manager Sara Bennett and National Museum of Ireland Assistant Education & Outreach Officer Niamh Keating.

    This episode of The Fighting Words Podcast focuses on the Story Seeds Cross Border Project, and features stories, plays, and screenplays, written by young writers who took part in the Story Seeds Cross Border Project. This episode is a joint project of Fighting Words and Fighting Words Northern Ireland and is funded by Creative Ireland and The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. What is Story Seeds? The Story Seeds Project aims to promote a positive sense of self and community through creative expression. The project ran from September 2023 to February 2024. During that time, Fighting Words and Fighting Words Northern Ireland worked with thousands of children and young people and they all have stories to tell. The project facilitators and volunteer mentors brought together schools from the counties Louth, Monaghan, Donegal, Armagh, Down, Derry, Antrim and Belfast, to create new stories, plays, radio plays, and screenplays about where the young writers live and what each of their communities means to them. The project culminated in the creation of many new, brilliant, stories. Featuring: The Cactus and the Cracken, The Chocolate Quest, Abandoned, Bell’s Island, The Prisoner, Dundalk to Drogheda, and Kick the Can.
