The Fighting Part
There is a part of the inner world that can rise quickly when something feels threatening, disrespectful or too much. The body gathers. The voice sharpens. The system prepares to defend what feels at risk.
This episode begins with the part that fights for what matters.
The Fighting Part is a Sourel for the woman who has had to become strong before she felt safe. It honours the protector within her that may have learned to push back, speak loudly, confront, defend or stand firm because softness was once ignored, patience was overused, or silence cost too much.
This reflection does not shame the fighting part. It listens for the sacred truth inside its force. I matter. My voice matters. My dignity matters. I will not be made small here.
The Fighting Part invites the listener to meet strength without handing it the whole response. It asks how fire might become clearer, rather than hotter. How protection might include wisdom. How the part that fights might be joined by a steadier inner presence, so it no longer has to go to war alone.
This Sourel closes with one gentle question: what needs protecting here, and how can I protect it without losing myself.
The Fighting Part is part of The Fire Within, a September Sourel series for women returning to the sacred wisdom beneath anger. It is a remembrance that strength is not wrong. It simply needs to be held within the deeper feminine presence that knows how to protect without abandoning the soul.
The fighting part does not need to be defeated. It needs to know that what matters can be defended without the whole system having to go to war.
If you find yourself wanting something to return to between these reflections, in the actual moment a pattern like this one takes hold, I also built an app called Settle and Source. It offers a ninety second guided practice for exactly the kind of moment this reflection has been describing, the gap between noticing an urge and knowing what to do with it. It is not a replacement for anything here, simply another door, in case it is the right one for you. https://settleandsource.com
