In this episode of The Fairy Podcast, host Winslow Vail sits down with Siri Frank, a watercolor artist and mom of three here in Idaho, to talk about the hidden folk and the threads of magic that weave through cultures around the world.

Siri carries two lineages: her mother’s Oglala Lakota family from South Dakota and her father’s Norwegian roots. From one side came the teaching that we are all related and that the winged ones carry messages from our ancestors. From the other came childhood Christmases in Norway, leaving a bowl of porridge out for the nisse.

Siri also tells the story of a steep, muddy fjord hike. Before starting, she asked the land and the fairies for permission to enter the forest. At the top, just as her friend wondered how they’d ever get down, a taxi arrived with a couple offering a ride. Siri knew exactly who to thank.

In this episode, you’ll hear about:

    • Owls, hawks, and eagles as messengers, and how Siri thanks them with sage
    • Asking permission before entering a forest, the ocean, or other sacred places, a practice she learned from her Hawaiian friends and family
    • An Icelandic guide whose mother can see the hidden folk, and how their homes appear to us as mossy stones
    • Norwegian nisser, huldrefolk, and trolls
    • Black Elk’s teaching on circles, round dwellings, and how energy moves
    • Her uncle’s teaching that the unseen realms are like the ocean: from above, only ripples; beneath the surface, a whole other world
    • White butterflies for her grandmother, an eagle in the Black Hills, and the loved ones Siri feels close by
    • The shared symbols she discovered between Lakota and Sámi traditions
    • Inviting the fairies in without needing them to show up a certain way
    • Keeping magic alive for kids, even when the tweens say, “Mom, it’s just a light flare”

This episode is for parents, fairy lovers, travelers, and anyone who wants to walk the land with gratitude and stay open to the magic around them.

The next time you step into the woods or the water, pause and ask permission first. You never know who might be listening.

  • Episode 14: The Stars as Our Compass with Intuitive Astrologer Rex Estell
    2026/09/30

    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of The Fairy Podcast, host Winslow Vail sits down with Rex Estell, an intuitive astrologer with 35+ years of experience and 200,000+ readings, to make astrology clear, approachable, and genuinely useful for children and adults alike.

We talk about birth charts as a snapshot in time, how planetary movements become a language, and why a good astrology reading should leave you feeling more empowered, not more worried.

We also explore some of the big questions: How much is free will, and how much is a path you chose before you got here? Rex shares a grounded way to think about karma and “the past,” and why life can sometimes feel like school, with all of us learning, teaching, and growing along the way.

Rex also shares his journey into astrology, beginning in the 1960s with the Beatles and the I Ching, and explains how curiosity, journalism, creativity, and years of experience have shaped how he reads a chart.

Then we bring it back to magic. Rex talks about what magic means to him through awe, sunsets, healing, and photography. We explore purpose versus destiny, why you are never completely locked into one chart, and how Rex approaches each reading with curiosity, compassion, and encouragement.

And for parents, we talk about how a child’s birth chart can offer insight into who they are, what they may need, and how parents can better understand and support their child.

In this episode, you'll hear about:

    • What astrology is and how planetary movements are interpreted
    • The birth chart as a “photograph” of your birth moment
    • Karma, the past, and the idea of life as a place for learning
    • Free will, choice, purpose, and destiny
    • Rex’s origin story: the 1960s, the Beatles, and the I Ching
    • How curiosity, journalism, and creativity shape his reading style
    • Progressions and why you are never locked into one chart
    • Reading charts with encouragement rather than fear
    • Simple ways kids can begin connecting with the night sky
    • What magic means through healing, awe, and noticing beauty
    • Why reading a child’s chart can help parents understand them more deeply

May the stars offer you guidance, wonder, and a deeper sense of your own journey.

    About Rex Estell

Rex has been an astrologer for most of his life, beginning his studies around the age of 15, and has enjoyed it so much that he has done thousands of readings for people from all walks of life.

He is an Intuitive AND an Astrologer with many years of experience. Growing up with a grandfather who treated his clients using his healing abilities and training, Rex was highly influenced by him, as he was a professional in the field of Natural Medicine.

Astrology means Logic of the Stars, and it makes the abstract more concrete and helps us understand the influences that guide our lives, consciously and unconsciously. The term Zodiac means "path of the animals" due to there being more animals represented in the Zodiac than Humans. Gemini is the twins, Virgo is the Virgin, Libra is the Scales, and Aquarius rules humans and humanity. Aliens too!

Rex has had an online presence for 25 years and worked on the Psychic Lines in the 90s when they were popular.

He is the product of many great school teachers - art, literature, debate, and journalism were the subjects he studied. The school paper staff were great, and they won national awards each year for their hard work.

Rex is self-taught in many areas of his life, especially astrology and music.

Astrology is always interesting, never gets boring, always brings new insights, and allows him to progress and advance in his life, knowing spiritual growth is what we came here to experience.

He has been fortunate to be a highly rated astrologer online for the last 25 years and has done more readings than he can count. When he needs answers to the questions of life, he looks to the stars and is able to find the answers there, as timing is the key to success.

  • Episode 13. The Leadership Map for Being Fully Yourself with Mena Teijeiro
    2026/08/31

    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of The Fairy Podcast, host Winslow Vail is joined by special guest Mena Teijeiro, Leadership Calibrator, Executive Intuitive, and Founder of The Florrest, for a joyful conversation about helping children learn to be fully themselves.

Mena shares Return to Center, the leadership calibration methodology she spent 11 years creating for founders and executives, translated here into a playful game for kids. Built around three players (you, your body, and your relationships) and three landscapes (inner, creative, and impact), the map offers children a way to reconnect with themselves early, so they can grow up with the clarity, confidence, vitality, and self-trust that Mena helps grown leaders find.

Together, Winslow and Mena explore what it means to tend your garden rather than climb a ladder, to nurture who you are rather than try to be someone else. Mena also shares her own journey of shedding the pressure to shrink herself, and how safe spaces for joy and self-expression helped her learn to be fully herself everywhere else.

In this episode, you'll hear about:

    • Return to Center, a leadership map eleven years in the making, now translated for kids
    • A playful way to understand yourself, your body, and your relationships
    • The difference between tending your garden and climbing a ladder
    • How to “weed” shame instead of carrying it
    • Why caring for the body is foundational to vitality
    • How being yourself can work like a magnet, drawing some people closer and sending others away
    • Why children need safe spaces where they can practice being fully themselves
    • How our mistakes and difficult experiences can become “compost” for growth
    • Why freedom and self-expression need to grow alongside kindness, respect, and responsibility
    • How creativity and confidence become the “fruit” of everything we tend over time
    • Why protecting a child's inner spark may be one of the most important things we can give them

This episode is for children, and the child within all of us, who are learning to know themselves, trust their inner wisdom, and bring their unique light into the world.

    About Mena Teijeiro

Mena Teijeiro is a Leadership Calibrator and founder of The Florrest, a 153-acre leadership sanctuary in Round Oak, Georgia. Her path includes an MBA from Chicago Booth, business recovery experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, a TEDx talk, and co-authoring the Jack Canfield bestseller Success Redefined. A dual citizen of Argentina and the United States who has lived across Latin America, Europe, and North America, Mena is also a mom of two young men, and her work is rooted in her own years of rebuilding her life and leadership from the inside out.
