Daniel, the Demonic & the Lion's Den

Our culture is fascinated with the supernatural. But what happens when we look for wisdom, guidance, protection, or power outside of God?

In this episode of the Everyday Jesus Podcast, Cassie explores what Scripture teaches about divination, witchcraft, sorcery, mediums, astrology, and spiritual counterfeits. Through the stories of Daniel in Babylon, the believers in Ephesus, and other biblical accounts, we'll examine the difference between supernatural experiences and the authority of the one true God.

Daniel refused to compromise his devotion to God, even when obedience led him into the lion's den. Likewise, the believers in Ephesus demonstrated genuine transformation by walking away from practices that conflicted with following Jesus.

This conversation isn't about becoming fascinated with darkness or living in fear. It's about recognizing where we've placed our trust, surrendering anything that competes with our devotion to Jesus, and standing firm in biblical truth.

Context changes everything.

In part two of our conversation about God’s Word, we’re going deeper into how to study Scripture faithfully. What happens when we cherry-pick a verse? How do we determine its context? And what does it mean to let Scripture interpret Scripture?

We’ll look at passages like Philippians 4:13, Ephesians 2, and James 2 to see why context matters—and how understanding God’s Word should ultimately lead to applying God’s Word.

Because Bible study isn’t about checking a box or simply gaining information. Scripture reveals Jesus, shapes us into His likeness, and teaches us how to live as His disciples.
