Welcome Inside the Arena, The Eternal Arena!

The band is officially back together inside The Eternal Arena!

Hosts Chris Gassner, Sr. and Tommy Davidson are joined in the studio by 16-year NBA veteran, college basketball legend, and newly enshrined University of Maryland Athletics Hall of Famer, Joe Smith.

Together, the crew dives into the art of tuning out online critics and living your internal truth—inspired by Pat Murphy and a classic Jay-Z quote: "It costs you nothing to pay me no mind." They break down the business and cultural explosion of the WNBA Finals, examine how the Golden State Valkyries eclipsed the $100M revenue milestone in their sophomore year, and revisit Joe's first-hand experience playing in front of Northern California’s legendary fan bases.

From there, the episode transitions into Joe's Journey: reflecting on Philadelphia’s 76ers Legends Alumni chapter, the emotion behind putting on the Maryland Hall of Fame ring alongside Gary Williams and Walt "The Wizard" Williams, and a behind-the-scenes recap of the 2nd Annual Joe Smith Golf Classic at Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake, VA. Plus: the operational grind of executing a multi-day charity event, what happens when the tournament host takes a few extra strokes to finish his round, and the 2027 vision for adopted rec centers and youth clinics across Hampton Roads.
