Some episodes are easy to publish. Others make your stomach flip before you even hit record.
In Part Two of this two-part series, we’re talking about how to tell the difference between fear and wisdom before you hit publish.
Not every uncomfortable episode should go live. But not every scary episode should stay hidden either.
The goal is clarity: knowing when a story is yours to tell, whether you’ve processed it enough to share responsibly, and whether the episode genuinely serves the listener.
XO,
Tammy
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Fear and wisdom can feel very similar in the moment.
- Not every true thing belongs on a microphone.
- You can be honest without exposing someone else’s story.
- Vulnerability is not the product. Service is.
- Sometimes the thing you’re protecting isn’t the listener — it’s your image.
- A scary episode can build trust when it comes from processed experience and clear purpose.
- Editorial judgment matters just as much as courage.
THE PUBLISH TEST
Before you publish a difficult or vulnerable episode, ask:
- Is this mine to tell?
- Have I processed this enough to teach from it?
- If I remove my own need to say it, is there still something here that serves her?
If the answer is yes to all three, you may have an episode worth shaping and publishing.
If not, it may need more time, a different angle, or it may not belong on the podcast at all.
