Two Princeton professors. Two nine-figure exits. 1000s of entrepreneurs coached. Zero bullshit.

Most business podcasts give you either ivory tower theory or bro-ey motivation. We give you what actually works—because we've built it, scaled it, sold it, researched it and now teach it to the next generation of founders at one of the world's top universities.

And we’re on a mission to help you succeed.

Derek Lidow ran a global semiconductor company, then founded and sold iSuppli for nine figures. Ben Lehnert built and sold Wunderlist to Microsoft for nine figures, then led design at SAP. Now we're Princeton professors on a mission: compress the world's best entrepreneurship knowledge into frameworks you can actually use.

Every week, we bring you battle-tested sprints, exercises, and advice from our award-winning "Entrepreneurial Journey" framework. We interview founders in the arena. We share insights from our webinars and office hours with real entrepreneurs facing real decisions.

Whether you're launching a coffee shop, inheriting a family business, or building the next unicorn—we've guided thousands through these exact moments.

No fluff. No generic motivation. Just proven tools to help you sprint, not stumble, through your startup journey.

  • Sprint 22: How bedrock entrepreneurs fund their startups
    2026/07/22

Most entrepreneurs are bedrock. While the chances of success are greater and their upside potential is not constrained by going bedrock, funding options are more constrained.

In this sprint, Derek and Ben describe the frugal and risk minimizing mindset required to be the successful bedrock entrepreneur. The sprint also outlines and describes the different funding mechanisms available to bedrock entrepreneurs, including non-profits.

The accompanying article concludes with how to adapt if your idea does not or cannot receive enough funding to be viable.

  • Sprint 21: How to think about funding your startup
    2026/07/13

Funding decisions can make or break you as an aspiring entrepreneur, even before you launch. Funding decisions need to be made thoughtfully by every aspiring and practicing entrepreneur.

In this sprint we go over the fundamental strategic decisions that prescribes which of two different paths you will likely be taking in funding your startup, whether it is for-profit or not-for-profit. We lay out how to think through whether you will want to use bedrock or high-risk funding methods to get the funds you will need.

While data shows that 97% of all entrepreneurs go bedrock, many bedrock and high-risk entrepreneurs inadvertently use techniques suited for the alternate strategy, causing unnecessary rejections, wasted time, and sometimes unnecessary failures.

This sprint helps you understand the choice – including for entrepreneurs interested in non-profits.

The two following sprints go into details of how you prepare for one or the other type of funding.
