  • 113. Why you're afraid to take action
    2023/07/26

Hey there, fearless listeners (pun intended)! In this podcast, we're diving deep into the topic of fear and how it affects all of us, sometimes in the sneakiest of ways!.

You may see me, look at my degrees, or what I've accomplished and think that I must be fearless. But, OMG, sweet friend, that couldn't be further from the truth.

I still experience a ton of fear (all the time!), and I do my best to stumble through it and keep going.

Because fear is something we all encounter, and its roots run deep.

    Yes, it's an evolutionary response…

However, for many of us, especially women and people of color, fear goes beyond the evolutionary response. For women, people of color, and other marginalized communities, generations of complex trauma have been passed down, shaping our fears and behaviors.

Acknowledging the ways fear shows up in our bodies is crucial, as our fear response is hardwired, acting even before our brains process it.

But, you can break this generational cycle of fear.

In this week's podcast episode, I show you exactly how.

Remember, you are your ancestors' wildest dreams, and when you choose action over fear, you honor their legacy and pave the way for a future free from these inherited fears. Sending you so much love today as you choose courage over fear.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    • The sneaky ways fear shows up (i.e. there's more to that feeling of apathy you're experiencing)

    • The science of the fear response

    • How generational trauma affects the way you react to fear

    • How to outsmart your brain and your fear response and take action in the face of fear.

    • How fear manifests in your body and how to acknowledge when its present

    • How to start the healing process to break the cycle of generational trauma and move towards a life of courage and action.

  • 50. How to be all in on you
    2022/05/11

Learning how to love yourself no matter what is one of the most rewarding journey's we take in life.

This matters because the relationship you have with yourself is the foundation for the relationship you will have with everyone else around you. The more you love yourself, the more love you can give to others.

Though this journey is incredibly important, it can feel overwhelming and intangible at times.

It's not always as simple as some people make it seem, you've probably heard people say: "You just have to love yourself." But what if you don't even really know yourself (like me when I first started my journey towards self-love)?

This week on the podcast I go into detail on the importance of cultivating an unwavering sense of self-love. I also walk you through, step-by-step, exactly how to do it.

And, btw, in case your curious I share my experience going from a devout people-pleaser addicted to external validation, to a self-assured, madly-in-love with herself mujer.

If you have a friend who you know would benefit from creating healthier boundaries or more self-compassion, please share this episode with them.

    Enjoy!

The Business Accelerator Mastermind: Learn more and Join the Waitlist

Do you need to be more self-disciplined?

What would be different for you if you were more disciplined?

If you're like many of my students, you may think that if you were just more disciplined then you could achieve [insert ideal state here].

However, in working together, my students are always surprised to learn the real reason behind their discipline problems.

Sneak peak: It has little to do with lack of will, and a lot to do with the old school, outdated, patriarchal way of thinking about self-discipline.

So, in the spirit of January, new beginnings, and a time of the year of high inspiration and motivation, I'm creating a four-part series on mastering self-discipline and using the science of self-discipline to get more done.

Starting with Part 1, where we get super clear on the real reasons why you're not more disciplined.

Once we clear this up, then we jump into all of the science behind self-discipline, and how to use the science of self-discipline and human motivation to really start getting more done in your day, so that you start getting more done in less time, and live a life of purpose without stress and burnout.
