Ros Waters is a passionate advocate for better caregiving systems, driven by her firsthand experiences looking after her father and partner’s father, John, during their health battles.
Ros's journey into caregiving began with her father’s battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and continued as she cared for her partner's father, John, who fought cancer for ten years.
Known for her open and heartfelt communication, Ros effortlessly connects with others, bringing both warmth and depth to her conversations about the often challenging world of caregiving. Despite the emotional toll, Ros remained resilient, highlighting the importance of self-care and mental health support, advocating for seeking help without guilt.
Ros is actively engaged in speaking with local MPs and pushing for better systems to support other unpaid carers facing similar struggles and red tape. Ros navigates the complexities of caregiving resources, sharing both the frustrations with existing systems and the value of advocates in ensuring proper care and support for loved ones.
Balancing caregiving with maintaining close family relationships, Ros underscores the importance of cherishing moments with loved ones, even amidst the demanding responsibilities of caregiving.
