The Dry Badge on the Greenway: How a Hospital Vanished a Man
In this episode, we follow the sequence of events after twenty-two-year-old Glenn Vaughn disappears from Dellard County General while his mother is in surgery, and trace the physical clues that redirected investigators’ search. What does a dry visitor badge on the Sutter Creek Greenway reveal about where Glenn actually went and who handled his things?
Person: Glenn Vaughn
Date: October 9-14, 2019
Location: Dellard County General; Sutter Creek Greenway mile-marker 1.1
Status: Missing then found; conviction and 31-year sentence mentioned
Witness: Connie Marsh (girlfriend), Diane Vaughn (mother), Rebecca Mueller (jogger)
- Glenn was in the hospital waiting room with his girlfriend at ~9:40 p.m.; he left saying he’d get coffee and never returned.
- A maintenance ticket showed east-side corridor cameras had been nonfunctional for three days before Glenn vanished.
- One internal camera captured a single partial frame at 9:43 p.m. showing Glenn following a person in gray coveralls toward Loading Bay C.
- Four days of steady rain soaked every outdoor path between the hospital and the Greenway before the badge was found.
- At 6:07 a.m. on October 14 a visitor badge belonging to Glenn was found hanging, dry and neatly placed, on a chain-link post two point three miles from the hospital.
