Having lived and travelled all over the world, Alanna now makes home with her partner and young sons on a farm in Cygnet, Tasmania, Australia. Her lifelong study of art, spiritual practice, mysticism, embodiment and healing informs and inspires her work.

I believe that our relationships are the most complex yet rewarding experiences of our lives and that when they feel connected, compassionate and courageous, so does our life. At the last minute, she decided to put the puzzle together herself and give it to her friend as a finished piece. It went together easily but then morphed and went through several stages until all the puzzle pieces turned into thin slices of beef.

After we explore Ryn’s dream and the gifts it holds for her, we talk about her life and work.

Ryn is a Brisbane-based creative director, children’s author and single mum. Her debut picture book, It’s Not Because of Me, helps young children understand that they are never to blame for their parents’ separation or divorce. Drawing from personal experience and grounded in child psychology, Ryn has written a gentle, empowering story that helps families navigate big feelings with warmth, honesty and a touch of humour. Alongside being an author, she is the director of a marketing agency specialising in food and has spent nearly two decades creating food brands for leading Australian and international food companies.
