Marilyn speaks about befriending our inner monsters both asleep and awake. Lauren tells us about using Tarot cards to find meaning about finding resilience, personally and collectively. • Akinke Lucas and the Divine African Feminine
    2025/09/01

Today we speak with Akinke Lucas about dreaming ourselves whole. We start by talking about Akinke’s travels in Africa and Indonesia, then about how to tell the difference between helpful tricksters and not-so-helpful demons. Akinke describes masculine vs feminine, conscious vs unconscious, mind vs soul, and speaks about how the birth of humanity was through Africa and also about the importance of knowing who we are in this moment.

We take a call from Sahlah Dubel of DivinebyDesign.org from Virginia who asks about bringing healing to communities. As she has recently given birth to her second son, she is concerned with the society her children are being born into. Akinke responds with a story about how she deals with her struggles to honor her own problematic lineage.

BIO: Akinke (“Ah-kin-kay”) Lucas is a Spiritual Consultant who utilizes her background in Drama Therapy, Somatic healing, social work, and indigenous traditions to guide her in facilitating purposeful healing modalities. She has a Ph.D. (ABD) in Integrative Therapy and Healing Practices from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Akinke also completed a year of ancestral apprenticeship in Africa and Asia, where she furthered her indigenous learning and artistic work.
