This is illogical. If you want to split everything exactly down the middle because "that's what would happen after divorce".... you've never been divorced lol. And also, this philosophy may be why your kids have trouble sharing!

Straight talk on this common issue that I see in pursuer-distancer couples, especially preoccupied women with avoidant men. Often your issues with the family mask your deeper relationship issues. If you do successfully spend your time and energy to win them over... ironically you recognize that they weren't the issue at all. The fact that your partner didn't defend you was always the real issue.
