  • up, Up, UP!
    2025/12/25

    Episode Highlights:

This episode climbs on three fronts. Niki Price joins us to talk about the Oregon Cultural Trust—why culture matters, how you can support it, and what lifting the arts really looks like on the ground. Be sure to act now before the New Year to claim your tax credit!

Dr. Ogden takes us skyward with the U.S. Coast Guard, breaking down helicopter operations and the real-world training that happens with Samaritan hospitals to help make rescues seamless when seconds count.

And with a clip clap clip and a little luck we hope to hear from Old St. Nick - Yes, Santa Claus himself on his most busiest of hours.

Culture, rescue, and a touch of magic—all rising together. Clear the decks, we’re going up, Up, UP.

    Episode Highlights:

This week, we’re tuning in to the voices, music, and creativity that give our community its holiday spirit. First up is Terry Voss, here to share the story behind the Pacific Coast Singers and their upcoming performance, Holiday Sounds of the Season—a true community ensemble bringing people together through song.

Next, we step into the world of classic radio with Louis Smith, director and Foley artist for the upcoming production of It’s a Wonderful Life at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. He walks us through the craft of making classic radio-style sound effects live on stage—footsteps, slamming doors, swirling wind, and all the magic in between.

And finally, we welcome Serena Dressel, a new voice to many and a returning one to the community. As the new Executive Director of the Lincoln City Cultural Center, she shares what brought her back and what she’s excited to shape in the seasons ahead.

  • What's Going 4th?
    2025/12/04

    Episode Highlights:

Representative David Gomberg joins Double R for a two-part briefing on the issues hitting our coast hard — prospective ICE operations, the Coast Guard helicopter’s move from Newport, ODOT’s funding squeeze, and the statewide 5% budget tightening. He cuts through the noise with what’s known, what’s in flux, and what might be getting the axe.

Aaron and his daughter Olivia from SCOUT also stop by to bring a lighter touch to the episode. They share their experience with axe throwing and the fun waiting at this locally owned and operated business — a little inspiration for holiday outings or gift ideas. And speaking of celebrations… today, December 4th, happens to be Double R’s birthday.

    • Representative David Gomberg, State Of Oregon, District 10
    • Aaron Linfoot (Owner) & Olivia (Business Manager), SCOUT Northwest Trading Company
