The San Francisco Police Department has announced a $250,000 reward to help solve a series of cold cases attributed to a 1970s serial killer known as the Doodler. This unidentified assailant specifically targeted gay men in coastal areas of the city, allegedly attracting his victims by drawing their portraits in local bars. Although authorities have a person of interest who currently resides in the Bay Area, they lack the final evidence needed to link him to the six homicides and several survival attacks. The recent public appeal includes updated sketches of the suspect and photographs of the victims to stimulate new leads after five decades. This initiative seeks to provide closure for a string of murders that, while less famous than the Zodiac killings, profoundly impacted the LGBTQ+ community during a violent era. Survivors and witnesses are encouraged to come forward with any information that could finally lead to a positive identification and arrest.
